Well 2025 has been an exceptional year for everyone here at Acorn. From receiving the keys to our new premises and creating a space we proudly call home, to growing our Day Centre and welcoming new members to our team – it has truly been a year of progress, passion and purpose.

We are incredibly proud to have finished the year by winning an award at the Yorkshire & Humber Family Business Awards. This recognition reflects the dedication, care and commitment shown every single day by our amazing team.

Our staff embody creativity, consistency, familiarity and continuity - working together with genuine care, shared experience and strong friendships. This is the heart of Acorn and the reason we are what we are today.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our entire team, our parents and carers, and everyone who continues to support us. Your trust and encouragement mean everything to us.

As we celebrate this achievement, we look ahead with excitement to 2026 and all that is still to come.

The last few weeks have been action-packed creating lots of Christmas goodies, which I can’t share just yet as some have been made as special little gifts 🎁✨.

🌟 This is where we’ve been today! 🌟

We took a magical trip to Hull New Theatre to see Beauty and the Beast – The Spellbinding Pantomime ✨

Our group had a fantastic time enjoying the music, the laughter, and the amazing performances from the cast, including Sue Cleaver, Paul Chuckle, and many more. The show was full of colour, fun, and that classic panto charm we all love! 🎭💖

It was wonderful to see everyone smiling, joining in, and soaking up the festive atmosphere. Trips like these are what make our days at Acorn Personal Development Centre so special. 🌹✨

Well worth a visit - and to those who couldn’t make it today, we missed you! ✨

✨ Festive Fun at Acorn Today! ✨

Fabulous Hannah from Once Upon a Tune has been in again today, delivering a wonderful Christmas-themed session that everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

We also received some beautiful flowers and a lovely card from Hannah to celebrate our award, and our amazing staff team was treated to some delicious Betty’s goodies — a thoughtful gift from a family member of someone we care for.

Such kindness means so much to us. A huge thank you for making today extra special as we head into the festive season 🎄✨

What an incredible night celebrating the Yorkshire & Humberside Family Business Awards! ✨
We were honoured to be surrounded by so many inspiring businesses who put their heart into everything they do.

A huge thank you to the organisers for such a memorable evening — the atmosphere, energy and passion in the room were amazing. ✨
