🦃🍂 Edward Winslow Thanksgiving Day Celebration at Woodland View Care Home🍂🦃
This Thanksgiving, we remember Edward Winslow — one of the Pilgrim leaders of the Mayflower voyage in 1620, and one of the few to record the very first Thanksgiving shared between the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag people in 1621. His words remind us of gratitude, togetherness, and the spirit of community that still shines today. 🤎
To honour that tradition, we warmly invite our Woodland community to join us as we gather to give thanks and share a wonderful Thanksgiving meal with our residents. 🥧✨

At the 11th hour, on the 11th day, of the 11th month — we pause.
For two minutes, the world grows still. We remember the brave souls who gave everything — their courage, their sacrifice, their tomorrows — so that we could have ours.
Today isn’t just about silence; it’s about gratitude. It’s about remembering the fallen, honouring those who returned, and recognizing all who continue to serve with unwavering dedication.
Let us take these moments not only to reflect on the cost of freedom but to carry forward the legacy of peace, unity, and compassion that they fought for.

An afternoon of creativity and remembrance ❤️🌺
This afternoon we continued our Remembrance Sunday reflections by creating our own poppies. The residents gathered around the table and really got stuck in — each poppy turned out so unique and special, just like the wonderful people who made them.
A beautiful way to spend the day, remembering and honouring those who served, while sharing laughter, stories, and creativity together. 🌹✨

What a morning to remember 🌹
Today was truly special — an incredible turnout from the public, all coming together to pay their respects. Joining everyone were our two amazing residents, Eric and Gerald, who both proudly laid a wreath in honour of those who served.
They were certainly busy — shaking hands, sharing stories, and connecting with so many others throughout the morning. It was heartwarming to see the community come together in such unity and reflection.
A day filled with respect, remembrance, and gratitude — a day to remember. ❤️🇬🇧

There’s nothing quite like seeing new friendships blossom here at Woodland View. Today was filled with smiles, laughter, and great company — a truly heartwarming afternoon! 😊💬
Moments like these remind us how special our community really is. Whether it’s sharing stories, enjoying a cup of tea together, or simply sitting side by side, these connections mean so much to our residents (and to us too!). 💕
It’s amazing how a simple afternoon can bring so much joy — new bonds formed, conversations flowing, and smiles beaming all around. ✨

🎃 Happy Halloween from all of us at Woodland View! 👻
What a spooktacular day we’ve had! Our Halloween party was a success — plenty of delicious food and drinks to go around, and our activity stations were a real hit. Seeing our residents laughing, joining in, and having such a great time means the world to us — that’s what it’s all about! 💜
A massive thank you to everyone who supported us with our trick-or-treat bags this year. It’s amazing to see how we could give back to our wonderful community — every single bag found a home! 🕸️🍬
As the spooky season comes to an end, it’s time to pack away the pumpkins and cobwebs… and get ready to deck the halls for Christmas before we know it! 🎄✨
Thank you again to everyone who made today so special — our residents, staff, families, and friends. Another spooky year done and dusted — roll on Christmas!
