Dromore Doctors Surgery is a busy and friendly general practice committed to providing high-quality patient care to the local community. We are seeking a reliable, organised, and approachable individual to join our team as a Medical Receptionist / Administrator.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing a professional and welcoming reception service while supporting the administrative functions of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
Greeting patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
Managing appointment bookings and telephone enquiries
Handling patient records in line with confidentiality and data protection regulations
Processing prescriptions and liaising with clinicians and pharmacies
General administrative duties including filing, scanning, and data entry
Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the surgery
Essential Requirements
Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Competent in IT systems (e.g., Microsoft Office)
Qualification in English & Maths Grade C and above
Desirable
Experience in a GP practice or healthcare setting
Knowledge of medical terminology or clinical systems (e.g. Optum (EMIS)
