🌟 After a busy Safeguarding Awareness Week, today we’re marking RCN Nursing Support Workers’ Day – 23 November 🌟

Nursing Support Workers’ Day is an opportunity to recognise and thank the often unseen care, nursing support workers give to patients and their families.
From wards and clinics to learning disability services, mental health, maternity and community teams — nursing support workers play a core role in supporting registered nurses and ensuring patients receive the best possible care.

As we wrap up Safeguarding Adults Week, we want to say a huge thank you to our teams and the people we support.

All week, you’ve been having important conversations, joining training sessions, sharing resources, reflecting, creating safeguarding walls, completing “What Makes Me Feel Safe?” posters, and shining a light on what good safeguarding looks like in practice.

Today’s theme is all about Celebrating Safer Cultures, and we’re so proud of the positive outcomes, early interventions, teamwork, and caring conversations happening every day across Precedo Healthcare.

Safeguarding isn’t just a policy.
It’s the culture we build together.
And you are making a difference. 💙

Today’s theme for Safeguarding Adults Week is 🌟Trust Your Instincts 🌟

In care and support, our instincts play a huge role in keeping people safe.

Sometimes it’s a small change in someone’s behaviour, a comment that feels unusual, or simply a sense that something isn’t right.

Those moments matter.

Trusting your instincts means:
• Slowing down and checking in with the person
• Asking gentle, curious questions
• Speaking up early, even if you’re not completely sure
• Sharing concerns so they aren’t overlooked

Creating a safer culture starts with the confidence to notice, to question, and to act.

Thank you to all our staff and partners who use their instincts every day to protect the people we support. 💚

Today’s Safeguarding Adults Week theme is Creating Empowering Environments.

We believe people feel safest when they feel listened to, respected and included. Empowering environments aren’t created by policies alone. They are built through everyday interactions - taking time to explain things, giving people real choice and control, and working with individuals rather than doing things to them.

When we create spaces where people feel understood and supported, they are more confident to speak up, share concerns and tell us when something doesn’t feel right. That’s what safeguarding in practice looks like.

Thank you to all our staff who bring this to life every day through compassion, curiosity and person-centred care. You make a genuine difference.

Today’s theme for Safeguarding Adults Week is Prevention in Practice.

Prevention is at the heart of safeguarding. It’s the systems and everyday work that helps keep people safe: meaningful training, strong values, supportive teams, and noticing when something doesn’t feel right. It’s about creating safe, inclusive environments where people feel able to speak up and share any concerns.

Our staff do this every day across our services. From early intervention to open conversations, they help prevent harm before it happens and make sure the people we support feel safe and heard.

We’re proud to be part of this national week of learning and awareness. 💚

This week (17-21 November) is Adult Safeguarding Week. A national campaign led by the Ann Craft Trust, aiming to raise awareness, build safer cultures, and remind us all that preventing harm, neglect and abuse is everyone’s responsibility.

Across the week, organisations around the country take time to learn, reflect and strengthen their safeguarding practice and we are proud to take part.

Today’s Theme: Change the Conversation

Today we’re focusing on the positive everyday actions that help prevent harm before it happens.

Change the Conversation means:
✔ Creating open, trusting environments
✔ Checking in when something doesn’t feel right
✔ Encouraging people to speak up early
✔ Making sure individuals feel safe, heard and included

Safeguarding people from harm isn’t just about responding to concerns. It’s about what we do every single day to stop things reaching crisis point.
