We recently arranged the funeral of Mrs June Frances Street. Her daughter and grandchildren created a very personal farewell to her. Beautiful irises were hand painted around her coffin, which was supplied by LifeArt. Such a loving, final gesture can offer some comfort when going through a difficult time.

It was an honour and privilege for Collier & Brain Funeral Directors to arrange and conduct the funeral service for well-respected businessman, Mr Brian George Burson on Friday 13th March 2026. Brian’s final journey began from his home on the back of one of his own lorries, making a special stop at his beloved business, Wye Commercials to allow for a poignant last farewell. Brian’s journey continued to The Church of St Lawrence, Weston-under-Penyard for a Service of Thanksgiving and Celebration and then finally on to Forest of Dean Crematorium for a family committal.

National Funeral Planning Awareness Week

This week is a reminder to have the important conversations we often put off. Talking about funeral wishes with family and friends can make a world of difference when the time comes.

Why is it important to talk about your funeral wishes?
• It relieves your loved ones from making tough decisions during a difficult time
• It helps ensure your wishes are honoured
• It creates peace of mind knowing everything is taken care of

Starting the conversation now means your family will know exactly what you want, reducing stress and confusion in the future.

Take the first step today - start talking with your loved ones. It’s a gift of care for both you and your family.
