Looking out for signs and symptoms of breast cancer can save your life. Make sure you check monthly and know what looks normal for you.

Signs to look for include:

• visible lump on armpit
• a lump in the breast
• dimpled or depressed skin
• swelling of all or part of breast
• ni**le changes inversion
• redness and heat
• skin irritation or texture change
• bloody discharge.

If any of the signs are there, go to your GP. It may be nothing, but if it is breast cancer, the earlier it’s diagnosed the better.

Keep an eye out for your breast screening letter if you are between 50 and 71 years old. Remember, early detection increases the chances of recovery.

We know there's a lot in the news about right now, so we want to take a moment to share the symptoms that can help spot the disease early. The earlier it’s found, the more treatable it’s likely to be.

Having these symptoms doesn’t always mean you have bowel cancer but it’s still important to find out what’s causing them. Sometimes these symptoms may come and go or might not feel that serious. It’s still important to talk to your GP.

We're here to support you and our information is just a click away. Visit our website to learn more about bowel cancer and the signs and symptoms to look out for https://bit.ly/475m1DO

Dudley’s family hub network has launched two new videos for parents and carers, showing what to do if a baby or child is unresponsive and not breathing. The videos have been produced in partnership with Dudley Cfrs and show how to give lifesaving CPR.

The baby video demonstrates the new two-thumb encircling technique recommended in January 2026 by the Resuscitation Council UK when performing chest compressions on an infant (under 1 year).

Dudley CFRs are also giving families the chance to learn how to perform CPR with FREE training sessions being held at local ‘best start’ family hubs. There is a session in Stourbridge (DY8 1XF) on Wednesday 25 February at 10.30am and in Coseley (WV14 9DS) on Friday 27 February at 12noon.

Booking is essential as places are limited, to book call Stourbridge on 01384 818780 or for Coseley 01384 813096.

The NI childhood immunisation schedule is changing giving even better protection with the introduction of the varicella (chickenpox) vaccine.

From January 2026, eligible children will be offered a combined vaccine for measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (MMRV) - as part of the routine infant vaccination schedule.

As with other childhood immunisations, parents will be contacted by their GP surgery to arrange an appointment if their child is eligible. If you are unsure if your child is up to date with vaccinations the easiest way to check is to look at your child’s red book or speak to your health visitor or GP.
