Hello my name is Richard Birkett, I am a local Personal Trainer who has achieved a Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training. This achievement has given me the opportunity to work with a wide range of ages, abilities and fitness levels all achieving fantastic results. Helping others is my biggest passion and seeing the effectiveness of my safe, fun and friendly approach to Health, Fitness and Well-being has kept me going strong. After a flat out couple of months, right through Christmas and New Year, with both clients and heavy training we finished on a nice PB of 240kg for 3 reps.

My body is fried and needing some serious R & R to recharge those batteries🪫

Will be back on it next Thursday after our late Christmas holiday / time off in Tenerife ✈️ 🏖️ ☀️

Well we got the 265kg up …… just!

250kg felt ok so after the pressure of a certain few individuals 😂 we went for it.

Just over 2 months to the Deadlifting Championships @ the Arnold Sports Festival NEC Birmingham where we will be attempting to break the British 🇬🇧 Deadlifting Record of 265kg for my Age and Weight Category 🤞

After the busiest Christmas ever with work and not much time off I just decided to keep training and focus on building up the weakest links of my Squat which is my Quadriceps.

To do this I have brought back the lovely Hack Squat over the last few weeks.

Now Up to 3 x 20kg plates + a 10kg on each side for 3 Sets of 3 Reps (new PB)

Short Term - 4 plates each side for 3-5 reps
Long Tern - 5 plates each side

Also messed about with some Rack Pulls and managed the 300kg again ………… just 😬
