๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸMILFORD ROAD CLOSURE - Please leave plenty of time to attend your appointment ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿšง The A6 in Milford, near Milford Bridge, will be closed from Monday 2 March to Wednesday 4 March, between 7:30am and 4:30pm each day, while the council carries out urgent tree safety works. Following professional assessment, a number of trees growing on and above the rock face behind properties on Makeney Road have been found to pose a risk to nearby homes and to the road below. Because of where the trees are positioned, the only safe way to remove them is by using a crane positioned in the A6. This means a full road closure is necessary during the hours above.

โžก๏ธ The closure will affect the A6 between the King William pub and Milford Play Area. The signed diversion route will be via the A38.

Please allow extra time to get to your appointment and plan an alternative route, there will be diversion signs in place.

๐ŸŒŸ A step forward for womenโ€™s health! ๐ŸŒŸ
A new inclusivity checklist has been introduced in Derby and Derbyshire to help general practices deliver better, more equitable healthcare for women. The tool is designed to ensure healthcare services truly reflect the diverse needs of women โ€” addressing gaps and improving outcomes across the board.

We are proud to share that Amy Armiger, Advanced Clinical Practitioner, has been involved in this important project, contributing to work that will help shape more inclusive care across our system. ๐Ÿ‘

This initiative is part of a wider shift towards equity in womenโ€™s healthcare โ€” alongside renewed strategies to reduce inequalities and make services more responsive to womenโ€™s voices.

๐Ÿ“Œ Why it matters:
โœ”๏ธ Women often experience healthcare differently, and inclusion tools help ensure services recognise and respond fairly to these needs.
โœ”๏ธ Structured checklists support clinicians to think intentionally about accessibility, representation and equity at every stage of care.

Letโ€™s continue to champion a healthcare system that works for every woman. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฌ

Women's health care in Derby and Derbyshire is set to improve thanks to new resources aimed at general practice.
