5 and a half years

From intern… To assistant coach… To coach… To manager

Tonight Coach Danny finished his chapter at Platform ❤️

I’m incredibly proud of the journey he’s been on at Platform

We’ve grown a lot in that time as a business (and as people) and Danny's played a big part in that

There’s something special about seeing someone come in at the very bottom and earn every step up

That doesn’t happen by accident

We are wishing him nothing but success in his next chapter ❤️

Once a Shark, always a Shark 🦈❤️

There is a lot going on inside the mind of a good PT

Share this with a good PT that's changed your life to say thank you ❤️

No but seriously what do you do? 😂

If you have never worked a 12 hour day, takem your kid to swimiming, answered emails in the car park and still shown up to train then you don't get to judge people.

Empathy is a part of coaching.

The Platform Story

Platform started as nothing more than an abandoned mill in Dukinfield and a Vision. Mark and Ste who formed Platform decided that the health and fitness services in the area were all lacking huge parts of the process and that ultimately the people of Tameside weren’t getting what they needed. The budget gyms leave you with an intimidating environment and no clue of what to do. The slimming clubs were giving poor nutritional information and setting people up for a cycle of failure by not getting to the root cause of what was causing people to gain weight. The bootcamps and fitness classes just weren’t providing enough support beyond the gym or enough training inside it. And 1-2-1 personal training is just far too expensive for most people to use it the way it is needed. So late night they got together, started at the end and worked backwards. What would the ultimate health and fitness service look like that would tick all those boxes? Bit by bit over the coming years they worked relentlessly on this vision growing both the gym in size and number of members and the coaching team to accommodate the people who were leaving the sub-par services in the area and becoming Platform Shark’s. Now what was essentially an idea born early morning over a coffee in McDonald’s is helping 100’s of people each month in and around Tameside physically and mentally to realise that taking care of themselves can be a fun process, is ever rewarding on yourself, can become a natural part of their life and not a chore that gets forgotten about until it becomes an issue.
