Last week we went to the Sikh Gurdwara in the South of Glasgow. Sorry some folks couldn't make it along. I am not sure any of us knew what to expect, but it exceeded any of that. What a place, huge rooms for gatherings - and these huge rooms are well lit by lots of windows. Our Host led us through the building, telling us about certain beliefs, why things (and people) were in certain places, etc. We were given lentil curry and chapatis at a table. I asked why everyone else was eating whilst sitting on the floor in a nice orderly row, and was told that in Sikh eyes, everyone is equal - no top tables, no fat cats or top banannas, everyone is equal. Only their sacred scriptures have a bed fit for a king (see photos). I can go on for ages here...it was enlightening and beautiful to learn that such peaceful and EQUAL people live among us, and practice a human religion that illuminates amid the norm.
