The Dunbar Information Hub is offering a One-Stop-Shop for all community groups at The Ridge on 31st October with free refreshments and children’s activities.
Help, support and advice will be available on Money Matters, Employment Support, Parent Child & Family Support, Volunteering & Communities, Health & Wellbeing, Climate Transport & Travel.

If you have not received an appointment invite in the post, or are unable to attend, please drop in to one of the following clinics. There is no need to arrange an appointment, just bring your original invitation with you.

As part of Falls Awareness Week we are thrilled to be doing a Walking or Daily Living Aid Amnesty.

Perhaps you broke your leg a few years ago and needed crutches for a short while but they’re now cluttering up the garage. Or maybe you have a trolley that you no longer use to walk with and has ended up becoming a plant pot stand or bookcase?

Whatever NHS or council provided walking / daily living aid it is that you no longer need, we would love to have it back. 🙂 That way we can get it refurbished and then issued out to those who now need it, plus it frees up a bit of valuable space in your home!

Head along to any of the East Lothian Council recycling centres between 15th-21st September to drop them off and then we’ll do the rest.

Please note Dunbar Medical Centre will be closed all day on Monday 15th September 2025.

This effects all three practices;

We will resume business as normal at 8am on Tuesday 16th September 2025.

As the school season gets underway, let’s make sure asthma stays well-managed and under control. Whether you’re a young person with asthma or a parent or carer, here are a few reminders to keep everyone safe and breathing freely:

✅ Take your Preventer Daily – Even if you feel fine, it’s key to stay on track with your preventer inhaler. Holidays can throw us off our routines, so restart strong!

💡 AIR & MART Inhaler Plans – If you've been prescribed these approaches, keep using your inhaler exactly as recommended.

📋 Know Your Asthma Action Plan – Emergencies happen. Be prepared and know what steps to take.

🌳 Manage Your Triggers – From pollen to pets, be aware of what makes your asthma worse.

🎒 Pack Your Reliever Inhaler for School – And don’t forget your spacer if you use a puffer! Parents or guardians might need to reorder these.

💉 Get Your Flu Vaccine – P1–S6 students will need a signed consent form for in-school vaccinations.

🏫 Let Your School Know – Every student with asthma should have a health care plan in place—make sure the paperwork is signed!

🚨 Asthma Attack? Act Fast. If your action plan isn’t helping, seek emergency help—day or night.

☎ NEW DIRECT ACCESS TO MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES in East Lothian

If you, or someone you care about, is looking for support regarding your/their mental health, you can now GO DIRECT and self-refer into East Lothian Mental Health Services and talk to trained professionals for information and advice.

CALL: 0300 790 6292 Monday - Friday 9am - 4pm.

After providing initial contact details you will be offered a *SAME DAY / NEXT DAY* call back from an experienced Mental Health Clinician who, following an initial assessment, will provide advice or a referral to the most relevant service.
