John Bald Funeral Directors

John Bald Funeral Directors Family-owned, independent funeral service serving bereaved families in East Lothian and Berwickshire. For some families, this will mean following traditions.

John Bald Funeral Directors have been helping bereaved families in East Lothian and Berwickshire for over 46 years. The Company changed owners in 2001 when John Bald retired and was taken over by Ian & Elizabeth Torrance, Ian ran the business from 2001 till 2009 with his assistant Gary Tait, Today after Ian’s semi retirement, John Bald Funeral Directors are managed and run by Gary Tait, We understand that after a loved one passes away, the last thing you want to do is have to organise a funeral yourself, that is where we step in and remove that burden from you. Our aim is to help make each funeral special for you, your family and friends. A funeral should be a unique tribute to the life of the person who has died, while providing support and comfort to all relatives and friends. For others, a more contemporary funeral arrangement is suitable and we are happy to discuss all options for the funeral. Every funeral, however modest or elaborate, will be directed with our fullest attention to detail from the time of your first call, until after the ceremony. We will give all the flexibility and support required by the family. We have all the relevant contacts with local authorities, churches, clergy, humanists, civil celebrants, hospitals, procurators fiscal, doctors, police, hotels, florists and other agencies that may be involved at a time of bereavement and we will liaise with them on your behalf. We can assure you that you will be treated with the utmost care, consideration and confidentiality.
