Pilates: the equipment edit with Jenny starts Thursday 8th January 5.35pm. It is a circuit style class giving you a chance to use some of the small Pilates equipment (small ball, roller, magic circle) as well as the reformer and arc. £14 per class or £75 for a 6 class pass. Men are welcome in all our classes at Core (with the exception of the pregnancy classes) but sometimes it feels easier to start a new class knowing you’ll not be in the minority. Come along to this welcoming men’s yoga class on Wednesday evenings 8-9pm for a gently paced yoga session that blends strength-building asanas (postures), steady movement, breathwork (pranayama), and time to unwind. You’ll leave feeling grounded, relaxed, and refreshed.

What to expect
This class is great for beginners and anyone with yoga experience. You’ll be guided through a sequence of poses in a way that works for all ages and fitness levels - no need to be super fit or flexible! There’ll be options offered so you can move in a way that feels right for you. The only thing you’ll need is to be able to get up and down from your mat comfortably. Because it’s a lot.
You are a lot.

And you deserve to be truly seen.

On the stroke of midnight tonight, perhaps you could congratulate yourself, for coping.
For breaking, again,
for rebuilding, again.

For catching the stones life has thrown at you,
and using them to build your castle that little bit more beautifully.

And if you have used those stones to block yourself in for the ‘heal’, perhaps you can realign them this year. Make a grander gate, not a higher wall.

The mum and baby postnatal Pilates class is suitable for mums with their baby aged 6 weeks (or 12 weeks after a c-section) to about 1 year. Bring a mat for you and a blanket for your baby to lie on and a couple of wee toys to play with. The focus is on safely strengthening pelvic and abdominal muscles and mobilising the body. Postnatal issues can be discussed and the class can help to work on rehabilitating weak pelvic floor to address incontinence/urgency and on helping rehabilitate diastasis recti (split abdominal muscles) as well as general core strength. The class is run to fit as much Pilates into the session as possible so you get the most benefit from your time in class each week. Baby can either sleep or lie a blanket/playmat beside mum’s mat. Mondays 1pm from 12th January 2026 sees the return of the wonderful Relax & Sing baby massage and yoga class to Core. A very special bonding class for parents/caters to do with their baby; a powerful combination of baby massage, baby yoga, sensory stimulation, relaxation and singing. Every week we include a gentle relaxation exercise for the grown-ups, sing our way through some fabulous baby yoga stretches and massage strokes, discover useful acupressure points for baby ailments and soothe baby with a lullaby. Suitable for babies from 4 weeks to crawling, bring yourself and baby and a blanket/towel you don’t mind getting oil on. Oil is provided. Jill is a method focused Pilates teacher who has recently achieved her level 4 teaching qualification for rehab Pilates so her class is definitely a great choice for anyone looking to get their Pilates technique spot on and/or anyone who would like to work on rehabilitation from injury or illness. 🔥Fitness Pilates🔥 comes to Core on Saturdays from 3rd January 8am. Get your 2026 off to a great start! Jenny has 20 years of experience teaching Pilates. Most of her classes at Core are slower paced and very technique focused with individual assistance as required and control, concentration and precision being the principles at the fore, but this new weekly class is a faster paced, energetic class with a focus on flowing movement, breathing and feeling our muscles working hard. One of the great new additions to our timetable in January is Izzy’s Seasonal yoga with two time options each week: Monday 7-8am (starting 5th Jan) and Friday 11am-12 noon (starting 9th Jan). Seasonal Yoga Classes - at Core, Dunbar. These yoga classes are varied and change with the seasons, teaching you to reconnect with nature and move with more intention throughout the year. For example, our summer practices are more fiery and heat-building whereas our winter practices are more restorative and inward-facing.
