Medicines Waste

Unused medicines cost the health service in Forth Valley £5 million a year. This is the equivalent of 800 hip replacements or 600 heart bypass operations, so please order only the medicines you require.

What can we all do to help?
Check what medicines you have at home — those prescribed and any bought over the counter.

Check if your repeat list is up to date

Think before you order your prescription medicines

Please order only what you need

Don't order anything you are not taking

If you need more medicine in the future you can still request it. Unused medicines cannot be recycled and issued again even if they have never been opened.

SCAM ALERT

We have been made aware of a potential scam involving illicit telephone calls made to patients purporting to be their GP Practice.

Information advises that a small number of patients have received a telephone call from 07759705398, with the location displaying as Spain. On answering, the caller advised they were from their GP Practice and were updating patient records. They then asked to provide the patient with a link.

No action was taken by the patients who have been contacted, and this is for awareness to ensure that all patients are reminded not to provide any personal details over the telephone without verifying the caller first.
