After an incredible 30 years at the practice, today we say a heartfelt farewell to a truly valued colleague and friend as they retire ๐Ÿ’–. Dr Stewart has been a cornerstone of the practice โ€” steady, wise, and always ready with both sound advice and a good dose of humour.

His work has touched generations of families in our community - caring for countless newbies at baby clinic ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿผ, to queues of well-worn joints in need of some comfort ๐Ÿ’‰. His commitment to teaching, mentoring, and appraisal has helped shape and support so many of us in our own careers.

While we will miss him greatly, we are so grateful for the dedication, skill, and kindness he has shown over the years ๐Ÿฉบ.

Wishing you a long, happy, and well-deserved retirement filled with many a new adventure. You leave behind a lasting legacy ๐Ÿ’™

Medicines Waste in Angus.

Every year, unused medicines place an avoidable financial burden on our local health services. That money that could be redirected into the care, support and services our communities rely on.

We want to understand why medicines go unused, what barriers people face, and how we can make returning medicines easier and more environmentally friendly.

Please share your views in our short survey: https://engage.angus.gov.uk/medicines-waste

Your feedback will help Angus Health & Social Care Partnership improve prescription practices, reduce waste, and invest savings back into frontline services.

Thank you for helping make a difference.

NOTE - If you need this information/survey in a different format, please email Tay.angushscp@nhs.scot or call 01307 492560 (office hours only).

Itโ€™s that time of year again when mini eggs are lining the supermarket shelves. But, did you know that, just like grapes, they are the perfect size to block a small childโ€™s airway and choke them? And, their hard shell can make it difficult to dislodge with standard first aid techniques.

With whole grapes we advise cutting them in half lengthways and ideally into quarters to create thin strips. But chopping up mini eggs isnโ€™t as easy. So, what can you do?

1. Hide them from the children and eat them yourself โ€“ good luck with that!

2. Break them into small pieces with a rolling pin. Or, crush them in a pestle and mortar. Or melt them a little first.

3. Opt for a different treat. Larger, hollow eggs are much safer for little ones.

For more practical tips and advice to keep children safe from choking take a look at our guide: https://capt.org.uk/resources/choking-fact-sheet/
