This International Women’s Day we are emphasising the power of support, collaboration and generosity in the campaign. When people, organisations, and communities give generously opportunities and support for women increase. When women thrive, we all rise ✨💜
Giving does not just need to be financial it can be sharing opportunities, increasing access, sharing skills and knowledge, or giving time.
At Dundee Women’s Hub we rely on donations to ensure we are meeting the most basic needs of the women we support. Without our basic needs being met, we cannot move into our own journey of recovery. In Dundee Women’s Hub, we aim to increase the wellbeing, health and safety of the women of Dundee and basic needs are the start of this.
💜£5 covers the cost of a tea or coffee during an outreach appointment
💜£10 covers the costs of emergency toiletries for women in crisis or those accessing our showering and laundry facilities
💜£25 covers the costs of a crisis clothing kit ensuring that women in very difficult circumstances can access the essential care and dignity they deserve
💜£100 covers the costs for supplies for running our group work – giving women the opportunity to try something new, learn a new skill, or build relationships and connect
We are very lucky at DWH that so many have given their time, donated financially, raised funds for us or donated clothing for our drop in – in particular the Hear For You listening service, TESCO Starter Grants, Let's Get Our Knickers in a Twist Dundee Community Craft Stobswell Forum SCIO, Dundee and many other individuals and groups.
By giving, you are contributing to women gaining access to support, gaining back power that may have been stripped away, gaining knowledge and skills, or gaining some much needed safe space and time. By giving, we show solidarity to those in our community, that we care and we believe.
