Sports service for Pre-Hab to Re-Hab and sports massage. As well as a personal training studio and online personal coaching service. This business is a complete sports specialist physical service offering a holistic approach to athletic and sporting performance and muscular care from beginners to elite athletic development with exercise prescription and programming to physical analysis and biomechanical correction. We also offer service for sports injury care with a Pre-Hab to Re-Hab clinic, sports massage, muscular release, support work and strapping an K-taping for exercise potential and injury management . We will also be offering nutritional planning and a personal training service on both a 1-1 basis and in a group class arrangement. Smashing a bit of an upside down fear this year and nailing Handstand push ups 👏🏼

We tested Joys 3 min max set of HSPU January 6th and then set her some small homework bits and bobs and revisited them in PT sessions and then 21 days later (today January 27th) she goes and DOUBLES + 1 her score !!!

I am so pleased and very proud to welcome my newest team member, Ashleigh 💚

It’s important to me to be able to offer the best services possible with a wealth of knowledge available under one roof and Ashleigh adds to this perfectly.

Here’s a little more about her ;

Hi, I’m Ash and I’ve worked as a Level 5 Sports Therapist for the past two years. I’m able to help you with all those pesky niggles and injuries using a whole host of techniques including Advanced Sports Massage, dry needling, electro therapy and bespoke rehabilitation programming.

I’m going to be available at Complete Phyzique on a Monday and Thursday from 9.30am to 14.30pm (late clinics will also be a go so keep your eyes peeled).

So, if you have an injury you’d like checked out or just fancy a Sports Massage, get yourself booked in!

After all, who doesn’t enjoy a good old deep tissue rub down every now and again?

Don’t look to completely change yourself as a New Years resolution to find happiness , chasing an idea of new found body confidence and overhauling all aspects of yourself … it’s overwhelming, it’s self sacrificing and quite frankly it isn’t necessary.

If you are 100% honest with yourself can you say you have attempted to improve your current self with all the little improvements you can make to your lifestyle ?

Example:

Sleep 7 hours + ?

Walk 10’000 steps a day or more ?

Choose higher protein meals and snacks ?

Be mindful of sugar intake and aim for

Setting goals can often be of a gimmick, it’s not that we don’t want to reach that goal but maybe we don’t actually know how and so having a desired outcome but with no process or pathway makes it very difficult to succeed .

Here is a model PTs often used to help clients understand and form thier goals to ensure they are measurable and easier to reach.

S = SPECIFIC , EG/ Lose weight / Improve Strength

M = MEASUREABLE / lose 1kg / Increase Deadlift by 10kg

A = ACHIEVABLE / can you physically obtain this goal or is it potentially to big an ask for your body / mind ?

R = REALISTIC / Can you achieve this goal in the time frame you are setting for yourself as well as with your lifestyle and other commitments?

T= TIMELY / How long are you giving yourself / 1 months, 6 months etc

Setting your goals this way abs writing down your intentions can make it far easier to adhere to your plans and reach the goals you set.

This is Mhairi 🌟

I’ve known this lovely lady now for about 2.5 to almost 3 years I think ?!

I’ve Been her personal trainer over the course of that time and her coach at my gym where she is now a regular member.

Mhairi achieved her first full and unassisted strict pull up today in class and went on to do a few more too 😀👏🏼

She has been consistent over the years , she has shown up and tried her best, she has been patient and I am so so proud of her progress .

Mhairi- you are amazing and the strongest you have ever been right now , well done !! Im so proud of you for reaching this goal of yours and also just generally super happy that you are part of our wonderful community.

Live Stronger - Live Longer

Resistance Training Exercises specifically improve muscular strength and endurance (depending on the weight, sets , reps and intensity preformed).

The style of training can really transform the shape of your muscle and ultimately create a more athletic frame. Other important adaptations from Resistance training include :

📍 Increased strength + Muscle endurance

📍Increased Metabolic Rate

📍Increased Posture and balance between muscle groups

📍Increased motor unit activation ans recruitment

📍improved neuromuscular connections

📍Increased testosterone and growth hormone (good for both men ans women for varying reasons and health benefits)

Resistance training really allows us to make/keep our bodies strong, healthy and able to withstand daily tasks without the risk of injury due to weakness or instability.

To a certain degree , everyone should engage in some resistance style training. Change my mind.
