The Therapy Room

The Therapy Room I treat clients with a wide range of conditions including cancer and fertility issues in men and women.

I also run baby Reflexology classes and 1-1 sessions for children. Reflexology involves applying pressure to reflex points in the feet which correspond to areas of the body. In this way the whole body can be treated, restoring energy balance within the body and improving health and well being. Reflexology has been shown to be effective in a number of conditions including stress and anxiety, hormonal disturbance, headaches, fertility problems and pain. I am an experienced reflexologist having trained with the Bailey School of Reflexology in 2005. I became interested in reflexology after experiencing the benefits of this powerful treatment. I have a particular interest in working with clients with cancer and currently work with The Circle of Comfort charity. I am also a chartered physiotherapist working with clients with mobility and balance problems and have a wealth of knowledge and experience of medical conditions.

If you’re trying to conceive, chances are that you are cutting back on alcohol or, perhaps, avoiding it altogether. Interesting and healthy alcohol alternatives are sometimes hard to find as alcohol-free wines and soft drinks are usually loaded with sugar or even worse, artificial sweeteners. This shrub cocktail is one of the most delicious and healthiest non-alcoholic cocktails I have found. It is packed full of fertility-boosting antioxidants and contains raw apple cider vinegar and raw honey to boost gut health. Don’t be put off by the inclusion of vinegar, it just gives a tangy taste in the same way lemon or lime juice would.

𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬
300g raspberries
50g raw honey
75ml raw apple cider vinegar
½ small pack mint, leaves picked
750ml bottle sparkling water

𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝
➡️Lightly crush half the raspberries in a bowl with a potato masher, pour over the honey, cover and leave in the fridge overnight.
➡️The following day, stir in the vinegar and then tip the mixture into a sieve that you have placed over a large jug and press through using the back of a spoon.
➡️Add the remaining raspberries, mint leaves, sparkling water and ice. Stir gently to combine and then serve.

Women who experience bleeding in early pregnancy and have had at least one miscarriage should be treated with the hormone progesterone.
The new guidance, from the health watchdog NICE, is based on research suggesting the treatment could lead to 8,450 more births each year in the UK.
The more miscarriages a woman had, the more effective progesterone was, the trial found. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-59385621

There needs to be much more information on how men can improve the quality of their s***m. It can be improved! Diet, lifestyle, reflexology, supplements can all make a massive difference.

When I started dating my now-wife, Anya, in 2004, we knew we were too old - I was 32, she was 33 - to waste time on a relationship where the other wanted a completely different life.

Focus on the present.

You can’t change the past, so stop reliving the “should haves” (maybe I should have tried for a baby earlier, maybe I should have lost weight, etc.) and “could haves.”

You can’t control the future either, so stop pre-living worries and anxieties.

Try to stay in the present, because it’s the only place you can really choose to behave in ways that can reduce stress and anxiety.

Low s***m quality is one of the most common causes of male infertility. S***m may be immature, abnormally shaped, or unable to swim.
For a s***m to fertilize an egg, the s***m must be mobile and be able to swim to the woman's egg.  But s***m that don't move very well aren't as likely to succeed. Their chances of reaching the egg and fertilizing it are diminished.
S***m need lots of energy for movement. Energy is produced inside the mitochondria, the powerhouses of the cells through the beta oxidation of  long chain fatty acids.  Carnitine is the ONLY  molecule that can transport long chain fatty acids inside the mitochondria for beta oxidation and energy production.  In fact, studies have shown that men with slow moving s***m have low levels of carnitine in their blood.  So, how much carnitine should a man take? Proxeed Plus, contains the exact amount of carnitine that has been clinically proven to increase s***m movement (motility).  Taken regularly for 4-6 months, Proxeed Plus can improve s***m quality and increase the chances of pregnancy. To learn more about Proxeed link in bio.

‘Cauliflower in a smoothie bowl?’ you might shriek? And the answer is a resounding YES!

Frozen cauliflower is a brilliant vegetable to blitz in the blender as it makes any smoothie deliciously creamy. Better still, you can’t even taste it, so you get all of the benefits without any compromise on taste.

But we love cauliflower for more than just its ability to give a gorgeous texture. This cruciferous vegetable is an excellent source of vitamin C, vitamin K, folate, pantothenic acid, and vitamins B1, B2 and B6. It’s also a very good source of (deep breath….) fibre, choline, omega-3 fatty acids, magnesium phosphorus manganese and biotin.

Cauliflowers are also purported to help boost fertility as they contain a special phytonutrient known as DIM (diindolylmethane), which helps to reduce oestrogen dominance – a major cause of many fertility issues in women. Endometriosis, PCOS, and ovarian cysts, for example, are all oestrogen-dominant conditions.

So, what are you waiting for? Why not try this recipe today and see for yourself!

"What's the big deal? you already have a child"

Secondary infertility—infertility that comes after you've already had a child—is a big deal to the women who face it. Having a child or children doesn't take away the pain of being unable to have more, especially if you've always imagined your future family being bigger.

Before you tell someone to "be grateful" for what we have, don't assume they're not.

Couples with secondary infertility really know what a blessing it is to have a child. It is possible to feel grateful for what you have and sad over what you don't at the same time.
