A recent survey we conducted shows more than half of young people regularly see unhealthy food and drink content online, often promoted by influencers.

Overweight or obesity is the second biggest cause of cancer in the UK after smoking and rates among young people are rising. Planned restrictions on junk food advertising online are therefore a vital step to protect young people’s health.

These measures must be properly enforced, so we're urging the UK government and regulators to take bold action to shield young people from the kind of harmful marketing that could increase their risk of obesity and cancer in the future.

What a privilege it was to chat to this amazing group of young people at Tri Limits Triathlon Club youth camp.

Using an “Inside Out” Lego set as a prop, I talked about the importance of all food groups to supply everything they need to build healthy plates for building a healthier body (with a focus on sports performance).

I also did a cookery demo and had a table with a variety of snacks, foods. This gave the young people an opportunity to sample lots of different foods they had never tried before.

I have received some lovely comments, and photos, from parents about how their kids have taken an interest in new foods and have made some of the dishes I had demonstrated.
