Almost a year on, my ACL rehab didn’t go the way I imagined.💭🦵
And honestly, no amount of pep talks, TikToks, or motivation posts could ever prepare you for the reality of it.

There were some harsh wake up calls and some unbelievably low points.
But it wasn’t all negative. Finding purpose beyond playing sport and learning a lot about myself and my body along the way.✨

👉🏼 Survived exam season📚 And Passed Semester 1!🥳

👉🏼 Celebrated our 6 year anniversary 🫶🏼 (and 1 year of my ACL going goodbye)

👉🏼 The return of the county season with some very exciting new rules!

👉🏼 Qualified for my first All-Ireland Semi-Final in my first year as coaching Camogie. (Unsure about how much coaching I do)

👉🏼 Plenty of Pitchside coverage ⛑️ with UUM GAA teams 💙

👉🏼 Clocked up some PB’s in hang clean and bench press just before the month ended! 🏋🏻‍♀️

👉🏼 Decided to try out Pilates to change of my rehab and movement routine! Has been so enjoyable and such a nice change!!

👉🏼 And of course a busy few weeks of massages and helping people move pain free

Looking forward to a busy February ⏭️

This has been a conversation I’ve had repeatedly over the past week with clients, particularly younger female athletes around injury prevention and looking after their bodies during the season. With the increased load on dual players and those involved at inter-county level, it’s a topic that keeps coming up across many of the teams I’m involved with. 🤕
