1: One Sculptra session might not cut it. A full course is best, with 1 vial per decade recommended. We see the best results after 3 treatments. Invest in the whole protocol, not just one session. The first time is pricey, but trust me, it's worth it.

2: Sculptra is often misunderstood. It's not a dermal filler, but a plant-derived product that stimulates collagen production to improve skin laxity. It doesn't replace fillers, and you might need a combo of treatments for optimal results.

3: Sculptra isn't permanent. It lasts longer than hyaluronic acid fillers, but your body breaks it down within 24 months.

4: Will Sculptra ruin a future face lift? Not if it's placed correctly! A good surgeon won't have any issues with it.

We dissolved old filler that had migrated into the white lip and distorted this beauty's natural lip shape.

What Is Sculptra?

Sculptra® is an injectable treatment with the active ingredient poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA).

Unlike traditional dermal fillers that immediately “fill” a wrinkle or contour, Sculptra works gradually by stimulating your skin to renew its collagen framework.

When done properly, results can last up to two years (or in some cases beyond) as new collagen builds and integrates. 👌 👏

A helpful mnemonic often used in Sculptra protocols is the “555 Rule”:

5 minutes: approximate time to inject each vial (depending on area and volume)

5 days: you should massage the treated zones for 5 minutes, 5 times per day, to ensure even dispersion of the product

5 months: by this point, the full effect of new collagen formation tends to become apparent

This aftercare is critical — skipping or doing it poorly could compromise how the PLLA integrates, potentially leading to lumps or irregularities.

Get to know Martine

One halve of the MD team

Martine is a mum of 3- 1 son and two daughters.
Martine graduated from her adult nursing degree back in 2010 before transitioning into childrens and completing the children's degree in 2016.

She works part-time in the NHS as a children's community nurse and then the rest of the week in the MD clinic.

In her free time, Martine enjoys spending time with her children and taking them to all their various activities whilst trying to fit in a bit of gym time herself.

Martine loves the black mountain walk and listening to a good audio book.

Our patients would describe her as the calmness in the clinic, a great therapist with a welcoming smile and a shoulder to lean on when you need to offload in a safe environment.

Martine is fully trained and skilled in all facial treatments available in the clinic and will always recommend the best treatment for you without following trends.
