Remembrance Day is about honoring the fallen's sacrifice, thanking veterans for their service, and acknowledging the freedoms they defended.
Our residents enjoyed being part of the Remembrance Day congregation. At 3pm our residents further enjoyed Afternoon Tea with a selection of fancy cakes 🍰🧁🍥🥮

October started with Diwali celebrations including arts/crafts, dressing up, music and dancing and Indian snacks.
This was followed by Safari Stu bringing his own pets to Rosalyn House. I must say our residents were very brave.
Next were the Halloween celebrations with arts/crafts, pumpkin carving, baking, witches hat hoopla, photoshoots, singer Mark Roper singing 50’s and 60’s music including Halloween themed songs too. Then we had Haloween party including themed games and a delicious buffet. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

September activities included a fabulous performance by Mike and Lou celebrating 85th Anniversary of Battle of Britain. Our residents, staff and families thoroughly enjoyed the show.
Next we went on a Canal boat trip which travelled along the Grand Union Canal. The weather was glorious 🌞 which enabled us to sit on the bow eating 🍪, drinking ☕️feeding the 🦆🦢. This was followed by a fish and chip lunch ( collected by the skipper from a local chip shop). Then more ☕️ and 🍰.
Next we held a MacMillan Coffee Morning raising money for a very worthy cause. Delicious cakes were previously made by our residents and chef Gary.
This year Kath (who’s mum is one of our residents) offered to sell her beautiful arts and crafts then donated all the money to McMillan.
We raised a whopping £119.41 in total.
Thank you to everyone who donated 👏👏👏

A huge THANK YOU for making our Summer Fete 2025 a huge success 🎈🎁🍾
It was a truly enjoyable day filled with fun laughter and community spirit.
With thanks to Elvis’ and his great tunes and to Gary (our chef) for a fabulous BBQ.
A special thanks to our resident’s family members Kath & Bill, Lesley, Donna & family for your help by running the stalls and selling the raffle tickets 👏👏👏
Thanks to your generous donations and support we raised an incredible £550!!
All money raised will go towards the cost of a ‘Rainbow table’ which will bring more fun, colour and creativity to our residents 🌈
We really couldn’t have done it without you ❤️

In July Amanda Seal returned to Rosalyn House to sing and perform for us. Our residents loved singing and dancing along.
This was followed by our annual jumble sale. We raised £115.00 in total.
Next Gavan Clarke played his guitar and sang familiar songs to our residents.
Unfortunately, the minibus we to use for our trips has broken down and is now awaiting repairs so we took our residents out into the local community instead.
We went to Costa, Morrisons, Library, Church and ‘The Chequers pub’.
We still hope to go to Woburn Zoo and the seaside in September when the minibus is fixed.
The canal trip is definitely going ahead in September as planned as we use different transport for that.
We hope to see you at the Fete on 24th August at 2pm for a fun filled afternoon 🎈🍔 🍾🍰🧁🎈
