We are still reacting like primitive man within our sub conscious survival brain, when the matters that are disturbing us are not normally concerning our survival. Being in a constant state of stress means the normal functions in the body are often not being carried out effectively because all attention is on the perceived state of emergency created by the survival brain. This causes problems such as digestion issues and the body cells may not regenerate in a healthy way. Many physical issues result from emotional eating causing diabetes for example. When we care for our mental state our health improves.
