It’s been a year already!!

To those that have……
We hope you’ve enjoyed using our out-of-hours (unstaffed) service over the past year.

It hasn’t been without its hiccups, but for the most part it’s been a resounding success — so thank you for using the service and for respecting and looking after the gym.

Many memberships have now reached their renewal date, so if your fob isn’t letting you in, it’s not a fault — it simply means your membership has expired.

If you’d like to continue using the out of hrs service with us, just get in touch via our app and we’ll get you set back up.

The service remains at £50 for the calendar year — no change

Please note: if you get to the gym and you don’t have access, we would expect you to abide by the t&c’s. Which wouldn’t mean going in with your mate. Just to clarify

We welcomed lots of new members in January and February, and new gym equipment arrived as well. More equipment is coming this March, and the stairmills will be fixed today—please only use them as designed, for walking up the stairs, with or without resistance—no sideways, backwards, or walking on your hands or any other stair mill bullsh!t you might see on social media.
New members, Make sure your fingerprint scans are set up on your first visit; if not, arrange a time with us so we can set it up—otherwise, you won’t be able to access the gym. Members, please do not scan your friends in—I can see who does this. That all hands in the near future to change our entry system to NFC passes like your Apple or Google wallets. We have a new website coming, where you can still do all the usual things—sign up, buy day passes—and we’re hoping to add more functions, such as clothing purchases, which can be delivered to your house or the gym, and also supplement purchases that we can place in a locker for you. The website will have a signup members area (separate from the gym signup), allowing you to join the online space, view equipment lists, and access how-to guides. We had a couple of issues with the Internet this month nothing to do with us all the Internet company. It was the power network that knocked out the power to the Internet companies box, but that had a knock on effect to us, this has caused lots of problems in the aftermath which I’m sorting out bit by a bit l,!such as the speakers coming on when they should do and used to in the mornings, or turning off when there is nobody. If this is the case when you are in, please message me and I will get it turned on remotely if possible. Hopefully the Vending Machine issue we sorted this month and it will be operational so you can still purchase your in-house shakes, bars and accessories when there is nobody on reception.

A busy couple of weeks coming up at the south beds Mecca. Equipment reveals coming this week. It may mean that a bit of kit you usually use is temporarily not there! …. With over 50 bits of kit, I can tell you 100% we will have another machine for it so just ask if you’re not sure. Everyone always says, you don’t need to change anything, and then we do. and then !! we know what we’re doing down here 😉🤜🏼🤛🏼 does your gym invest back into itself like we do? Has your gym frozen prices for current members like we have for 15 years?! Enjoy the new kit!

Due to the power cut in Houghton Regis tonight, we have closed early. Including fob holders We have been advised that there maybe another power cut while the problem is being fixed. That will be an issue if there are people in the gym with no staff. We will be back open for fob holders tomorrow morning at 6am and as normal at 9am for everyone else as long as there is power.

Please share and tag or inbox me if you or anyone you know is in need of a Xmas tree, brand new boxed with lights, baubles and star. I have 2 sets to give. I’d like to particularly help anyone who is grieving this year and doing the usual things just seem unbearable without that loved one. I’ve been there, IAM THERE! We didn’t put up the tree until Xmas Eve last year, when we did it felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Finally somewhere for the presents I had bought last minute to go! And seeing my son smile Xmas morning, and the bonding time putting the tree up after we had been quite vacant with eachother since my wife, his mum passed. However, this is not exclusive, if you know anyone local to the gym that would like this small gesture or if you would, please inbox me. I can deliver and help put it up if it’s needed. Xmas hrs are here! If you are a direct debit member or you have paid for a minimum upfront your eligible for the out of hrs fob. Single month members, week passes and day passes are not.
This grants you access to an extra 39 hrs per week. Please note, the reduced fob hrs between Xmas and new year is to fall inline with the shortened standard hours.
The fob is £50 for the year as a Bolt on to your current membership. If you would like any more info or to purchase one please message me on your iron bodies app. If you need help getting in the app, let me know and I’ll send you a link.

Just leaving the gym on on my day off (12.20am) because this morning I received a message saying the adductor cable had snapped. Now, lots reading this will know what I’m going to say next……. I put a 20kg limit of added plates on that machine. Why? Because the cables are not rated for you to add 2-3-4 plates thinking it will grow you ginormous adductors. Someone once said they would have to train elsewhere if that was the case 😂😂 you know what else builds your adductors? Getting out the hole in a squat! Wide stance, frog squats, goblet squats, any squat movement with a wider than shoulder width stance with your toes and knees pointed at the 10 and 2 position. No one wants to do the hard stuff.
It’s now fixed and there are to be ZERO added weights to the machine except the 5kg that comes with it. Failure to do this may result in memberships or fobs being revoked. Lucky your gym owner doesn’t like seeing bits of kit out of action.
Reported damaged 7.30am fixed by 23.30. Excepting lots of loaded Xmas cards 💪

Sunday afternoon I received a couple of messages from our members letting me know the hydraulic gas strut on our Panatta multi flight was de pressurised which is pretty rare!
By Monday afternoon, i had installed a new one and it was back up to 100%. Not even 24 hrs from reporting, to fixed. One of the many reasons why we are different from many independent gyms let alone the chain gyms.
How long has that bit of kit been broken in your gym?
How many weight plates get left on equipment? How long are your searching for that missing dumbbell? But you go there because it’s cheaper……
