I've been reflecting on how lucky some of us are this Christmas, roof over our head, food in our tummies, and surrounded by friends and family. What about those alone this Christmas feeling lonely. So I've come up with some tips on how we can all support lonely, elderly and vulnerable people this Christmas together. Christmas is about connection, kindness and making sure no one is forgotten! π
β‘οΈπ I have brought 3 small token gifts to give to anyone who is alone this Christmas as I can't imagine someone being alone without anything this Christmas. So please reach out!
Here are a few small ways to make someone's Christmas that little more special so they don't feel alone π
β¨ Reach out with a call or visit β even 10 minutes can lift a whole day.
β¨ Invite them to join you for a cup of tea, a meal, or a festive activity.
β¨ Send a handwritten card or small treat to let them know theyβre remembered.
β¨ Offer help with shopping, decorations, or transport to community events.
β¨ Share moments they enjoy β music, old photos, stories, or a Christmas movie.
β¨ Check in on elderly neighbours who may not have family nearby.
β¨Invite someone over for a Christmas dinner
β¨Take a small gift to someone that might not see anyone Christmas day
Please letβs spread a little warmth this season. π
