Acupuncture can help induce labour.

Last Wednesday evening, a client came to have acupuncture treatment for inducing labour. She was over 41 weeks pregnant but had no sign of childbirth. She was due to be induced by the hospital next Monday and really would like to avoid that if possible. When I treated her carpal tunnel syndrome two months ago, I told her acupuncture could help rotate the fetal position and induce labour. She remembered this and came back. I chose three points, one on the hand and two on the leg. After one hour of treatment, she felt the baby was moving more frequently than before and having a pushing feeling at the bottom. Next day, she gave birth to a beautiful girl. This is really an amazing success example of acupuncture treatment. Another client told me she used acupuncture and moxabustion to change the fetal position before her delivery and one time was successful.
Acupuncture not only helps women to get pregnant, but also helps the baby to come to the world safely and on time.

A big honor to be listed as one of the 2021 three best acupuncture in Newcastle. I really appreciate all the support, encouragement and trust from my family, friends and especially my clients. I know I am very new in this career, but I am very happy to learn and improve myself. I can’t promise that I definitely resolve every client’s health issues, but I will try my best. I always think if there is a problem, there must be a way to resolve it. Sometimes we just need a bit more patience to find that way.

Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a chronic, persistent and common medical problem. The main symptoms include:
• Acid reflux: stomach acid travelling up towards the throat. There may be an unpleasant sour taste in the mouse caused by stomach acid.
• Heart burn: a burning feeling in the chest.

Patients may also suffer from
• A cough or hiccups that keep coming back
• A hoarse voice
• Bad breath
• Bloating and feeling sick

Population-based studies demonstrate that 44% of the adult population in the USA report GERD-related symptoms (heartburn and/or acid reflux) at least once a month and 20% once a week. Stress and anxiety is a very common reason to lead to GERD.

Acupuncture has been used to treat GERD for thousands of years. Modern researches find that acupuncture can reduce acid secretion and improve gastrointestinal motility through regulating parasympathetic and sympathetic nerve systems.

These two clients suffer from severe acid reflux and heart burning for many years. The routine proton pump inhibitor treatment didn’t work on them. Based on their health condition, I performed cupping, acupuncture and ear apex bleeding. The symptoms reduced quickly after the several treatments. Now Paul is very happy to have his European travelling and Judith is coming to the end of the treatment. Although they were sceptical when they first came for treatment, they now believe that acupuncture can treat acid reflux. When you experienced pain all over your body and doctors exclude other disease like arthritis, you may likely be diagnosed as fibromyalgia. It includes a range of symptoms such as pain in many sites of your body, joint stiffness, sleep disturbance, fatigue and mood disorders. All of them affect the quality of your life. Unfortunately there is no cure and few treatment options for fibromyalgia at present.
Many researches have proved that acupuncture is effective on treating fibromyalgia. This client is a typical example. Acupuncture can be very effective on treating different kinds of pain, like trigeminal neuralgia in this client. You may just need one treatment to stop it.

Lower back pain is so common these days. If you sit long enough, run or walk long and often enough, or lift heavy items, you have a high chance to get it. Sometimes it does disappear after a while. However, very often it becomes worse and worse. One morning, when you can't get out of the bed, you realize that you have a big problem. Pain killer is very likely what you get if you go to see your doctor. Alternatively, steroid injection is another effective way to stop the pain in a short time. Unfortunately it is very rarely that your doctor will recommend this to you.
Acupuncture can be very effective, especially when the onset time is shorter and the condition is not very serious.
The first client in the review suffered from lower back pain for over 6 years and the pain disappeared immediately after the first acupuncture treatment.
The second client is an old man and had lower back pain also for more than 6 years. The pain was gone after two acupuncture treatments.
Of course, not everyone with lower back pain is so lucky like them. The shorter the onset time, the more likely it is to be cured, and the faster the recovery will be. Therefore, don't hesitate to seek for help if you are suffering from it.

When we have health problems, we are worrying and get stressed. These negative emotions will make our health worse. At the end, it becomes a negative cycle. However, when our health improves, we are happier and less worried. The positive emotions will further help our recovery. This turns into a positive cycle. I see the two cycles clearly in these two clients. Most of my clients tell me they become more energetic and happier and want to have a healthy life now. It is so interesting that acupuncture can change people's emotion. For those who are suffering anxiety and depression, maybe acupuncture is a good choice.

I have seen some clients that one treatment is enough to resolve their health problems majorly. I often think this is already very efficient. However, I was so shocked two weeks ago that a client’s problem was resolved immediately by only one needle. This girl had suffered face muscle twitch for more than half a year. It was not a big problem but sometimes drove her crazy because the twitch was there 24 hours every day. Her doctors only gave her some vitamins and obviously they didn’t help at all. I knew acupuncture could be helpful but was not sure how many treatments were needed. After the routine cupping to relax her body, I put one needle on the twitching muscle in her face and the spasm stopped immediately and didn’t appear during the 1-hour treatment. Both of us were so shocked that a problem bothering her for more than 6 months was resolved so easily and quickly. Several days later, she told me it didn’t happen again.
This job has brought me so many surprises and I have to say that I really enjoy it. Once a young girl felt so good after the treatment and she smiled like a child who was just given some sweets. I often remember her smile and think all the hard work is worth if I can let every client leave my clinic happily.

Before I came to UK, allergy was just a word I learned from textbook. Occasionally I heard that somebody had allergy after having eaten bad food. It is very rare in my area that somebody is allergic to a specific food or pollen. However, allergy is so common in UK. I often hear somebody is allergic to nuts, eggs, dairy products, dusts and even sunshine. Spring becomes a nightmare for those who are allergic to pollen. So many children suffer from eczema. Anti-histamine drugs are very easy to buy from shops. These drugs help to alleviate the symptoms, but they can’t protect you from next attack. Having learned and worked in immunology for several years, I know very well how our body reacts during allergy but still don’t know how to stop the reaction from the very early beginning. After learning acupuncture, I find that allergy may be treated permanently by using this ancient method. So many studies have proved that acupuncture is effective in treating asthma, allergic rhinitis, eczema, and other kinds of allergic diseases. The effects on Andrea are such a good example. Sometimes after one treatment, we can see a big improvement of her eczema condition. Her eyes can be less swollen immediately after the treatment. Moreover, she becomes more energetic and her body is not as dry as before. The most important is that, unlike other drugs, there is no side effects for acupuncture treatment.

Many women are suffering from dysmenorrhea, pain in the lower abdomen and lower back before and after or during the menstruation or period. The pain sometimes is intolerable and often accompanies with sore breasts, heavy or scanty me**es. I remember a roommate had dysmenorrhea when I studied medicine 20 years ago. She asked our gynecology teacher how to alleviate the pain. Our teacher told her the pain might disappear after she gave birth. I still remember how desperate she felt after hearing this. Since I started to learn acupuncture, I have found that dysmenorrhea definitely can be treated by acupuncture. Several female clients told me that they didn't have the lower abdomen or back pain any more after around one month of treatments. One client even didn't experience the pain after only one treatment. Besides the pain, acupuncture also adjusts the me**es volume, helps to avoid anemia in those women with heavy me**es. The effects in Nazreen show a great example.
