As we approach Valentine's Day, we've been taking time to reflect on the many forms love can take — not just romantic love, but friendships, family bonds, and the joy of companionship. It was a wonderful reminder that love stories don’t fade with time; they grow richer with every year.

We’ve enjoyed a sweet day together savouring homemade treats, writing thoughtful love notes, and watching the snow fall outside while the Winter Olympics played in the background.

Happy ‘Make a Friend’ Day!

Moving into a care home is the start of a new chapter — and for many of our residents, it’s also been the beginning of some truly special connections.

From sharing stories over a cup of tea, to teaming up for quizzes and activities, to simply enjoying a chat in one of our cosy lounges, friendships here are formed in the most meaningful ways.

We’ve seen residents discover shared hobbies, reminisce about familiar places, and even find they grew up just a few streets apart. It’s a joy to watch these bonds grow and to see the positive impact they have on wellbeing and happiness.

It was such a treat to take a small group from home to the local Fox Cub pub today. There is something truly special about the atmosphere of a traditional pub—the warm welcome, the familiar hum of conversation, and the simple pleasure of a cold drink in good company.
For our residents, it was more than just an outing; it was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with the community and enjoy a change of scenery.

A big thank you to Nikki from Adult Wellbeing Services for hosting our inaugural carers coffee morning, with helpful information shared, freshly baked cookies, and a sense of looking out for each other. It was a lovely morning spent navigating how to access services that can make a real difference. These events are open to anyone who is a carer, past or present, and we look forward to sharing the March dates with you soon.
