Liz passed away peacefully on Monday, 9th February 2026, aged 85.
She was a devoted mum and wife, a much-loved sister, a proud and adoring grandma, and a dear friend to many.
Liz had a quiet strength and a remarkably generous heart.
She cared deeply, loved wholeheartedly, and gave her time and kindness so freely.
To have known her was to have felt like the most important person in the world.
Her cremation will be held at
Wear Valley Crematorium
on Tuesday, 3rd March 2026 at 9.00 am.
Please wear whatever you feel most comfortable in, with bright colours very much encouraged.
If you wish to honour Liz’s life, the family invites donations to
Save the Children & National Trust.
After the cremation, all who knew and loved Liz are warmly invited to gather for light refreshments at
Beddell House, Sherburn House Charity, Durham DH1 2SE,
where we will share memories, spend time
together, and celebrate a life that meant so much to so many.
A live stream of the cremation will also be available for close family and friends who are spread across
the UK and throughout the world.
