Hi. My name is Rhiannon and I am a Practice Nurse who will be running a walk in smear clinic at Esh Winning Surgery on Saturday 15th November. This is available to all of our patients at all 5 surgeries sites including:

➡️ Langley Park
➡️ Ushaw Moor
➡️ Tow Law

‼️All ladies who have had their smear invite are eligible to attend.‼️

Please note you do not need an appointment, you can just walk in between 9am - 12:30pm

PACT House are offering this brilliant service again this year.

They are also seeking volunteers to help deliver meals on Christmas Day.

This Remembrance Day, we encourage all GP practices to become Veteran Friendly Accredited to support veterans who may be silently struggling with their mental or physical health at this potentially challenging time.

Research by the Royal College of GPs involving 5,000 veterans found that, although more than half (55%) have experienced health issues potentially related to their service, one in seven (14%) have not sought help from a healthcare professional.

However, nearly two-thirds of veterans said they would be more likely to seek help if they knew their practice was Veteran Friendly Accredited. Having taken the quick and easy step to become
accredited ourselves, we have seen first-hand the difference it can make.

The free training and resources provided through the scheme have made it easier for us to identify, understand and support veterans and, where appropriate, refer them to specialist services designed specifically for them. Not only has the programme helped us to improve outcomes for our veteran patients, but it has also helped to save time and reduce repeat appointments.

It takes just 20 minutes to sign up, and more than 4,400 practices have already joined the scheme. A University of Chester evaluation found that 99% of practices recommended it.

Wear it Pink, Breast Cancer Now - Friday 24th October.

Today staff will be wearing pink to raise money for Breast Cancer Now. Staff will wear their bright pink jumpers/ tshirts / scrubs / socks etc. whilst donating to the charity.

If you have an appointment today, feel free to come in wearing bright pink, we all will be!😀

Durham Nearly New Sale

Sunday 19th October 2025 - 1:30pm to 3pm

The Durham Branch of the National Childbirth Trust hosts our Nearly New Sale at Meadowfield Leisure Centre, John Street North, Meadowfield. These sales raise vital funds for local and regional NCT activities whilst enabling local parents to buy and sell good quality used baby and children's toys, clothing and equipment.

Entry is £1 per adult paid on the door, children are free.

14 ladies attended Tow Law Surgery for their smear and 409 patients attended Esh Winning Surgery for their flu jabs.
