Mark’s been hard at work today building private gardens for some special people. How beautiful is this heart garden with the slate chippings by the water?

Have you ever wondered about who is working behind the scenes, at Wear Valley Crematorium?

If you could ask us anything, what would it be?

A beautiful memorial designed to blend naturally into its surroundings 🌿

The Tree Trunk Vault is crafted from yellow granite with hand-carved bark detailing and a black granite inscription plaque. Suitable for two sets of ashes, it offers a thoughtful and lasting tribute for those seeking something that complements the beauty of the landscape.

A gentle, nature-inspired way to remember a loved one 🤍

Suffering a bereavement is one of the hardest things that we must go through. If you could give one piece of advice to somebody who is grieving a loved one, what would it be?

My advice is simply to be kind to yourself, and to allow yourself to feel.

Did you know that we are open on Saturdays?

We appreciate how difficult it is to get time throughout the week to sit down for an appointment; especially one as important as discussing a loved one’s memorial. We are happy to take Saturday appointments, and late afternoon appointments throughout the week.

If you have any questions about our gardens, give us a call on:

Take a tour of our beautiful grounds with this short video.

We pride ourselves in keeping the crematorium looking stunning throughout the course of the year. As we head back into summer, we can’t wait to see the roses blooming and the sun shining once again.

It seems a rather fitting time of year to share a small snippet of my favourite poem- Lonely as a Cloud by William Wordsworth.

If you had to choose, what would your favourite poem or song lyric be?

Memorial accompaniments offer a thoughtful way to add a personal touch to memorial gardens 🌹

Each accompaniment can be personalised with names, meaningful words, or even small illustrations, allowing families to reflect the character, interests or memories they wish to honour.

Placed within the calm and natural surroundings of our grounds, these markers become a lasting part of the landscape, offering a quiet place for reflection and remembrance.

If you would like to find out more about the memorial options available, our team would be happy to help guide you through the choices 🤍
