Today, on International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating the incredible women who work here and across all our crematoria within CMG.

From the care they show every day to the strength, compassion and dedication they bring to their roles, these women make a real and lasting difference. We also honour the women, past and present, whose resilience and commitment have helped shape who we are today.

Care workers from Nightingale Hall Nursing Home, Richmond recently visited Wear Valley Crematorium to help ensure families receive clear and compassionate information during difficult times. During the visit which was kindly arranged by Will and Shellie from John Blenkiron and Sons, Richmond, they met with crematorium staff to better understand the processes involved and gather helpful guidance that can be shared with relatives when a loved one passes away. By learning more about the services, procedures and the support available at the crematorium, the staff aim to provide families with reassurance at what is possibly one of the worst times in their lives.

We at Wear Valley are more than happy to offer this service to Nursing Home workers, please reach out if this is something you would be interested in.

Our Book of Remembrance offers a timeless way to honour a loved one, with carefully written dedications held in perpetuity 📖

For families who wish to keep that memory close, we also offer framed keepsake copies of the dedication - a meaningful tribute to cherish at home.

Just a little reminder of our Mothers Day Service and getting your pictures sent to us of your beautiful mothers to be shown during our service, we need them to be with us by 10th March☺️

This Mothers Day, Sunday 15th March, we would love it if you were able to join us for a small service to remember all of our lovely mothers🌷. If you would like to send an image we can make sure this is added to our music tribute which will be played during the service, please send to wearvalley.crematorium@thecmg.co.uk no later than Tuesday 10th March. Arrival at 10am for a 10.30 am start , we would love to see you all, refreshments will be provided☺️
