Children under 6 are now routinely offered the MMRV vaccine as part of the NHS childhood vaccination programme.

This replaces the existing MMR vaccine and adds protection against chickenpox, alongside measles, mumps and rubella.

We have CAMHS Nurse Drop in sessions coming up at the following Best Start Family Hubs

Wednesday 28 January 2026, 9.30am to 11.30am at Willington
Tuesday 3 February 2026, 9.30am to 11.30am at Wheatley Hill
Tuesday 3 February 2026, 1pm to 3pm at Bishop Auckland
Wednesday 11 February 2026, 12.30pm to 2.30pm at Stanley

These sessions may be useful if your child is struggling with:

🎈low confidence and self esteem
🎈low mood
🎈worrying and anxious feelings

The CAMHS nurse will not be able to give any updates on open cases and ongoing CAMHS work during these sessions. Any questions like this should be directed to the CAMHS team supporting your child.

Singing Bunnies have some free funded places for families who live in a DH7 postcode for their Singing Bunnies class which takes place at Ushaw every Friday afternoon 1:15-2pm. The funding is to help families who may not otherwise be able to attend due to financial difficulties or those who would benefit from the social aspects of the group.

There's a bit more information via the leaflet attached but if there are any families that would like to come, please contact the surgery so we can share the email address to book a place.
