Ethicare Durham A person centred service offering a wide range of support for people with learning disability. Provide services that are anti-discriminatory.

We provide day care and supported living services to adults aged 18 and over. Ethicare (Durham) Ltd was established in December 2014 and we provide Person Centred Supported Living, Day Support and Domiciliary Care Services to adults who have a learning disability. The Aims of Our Service

The main aim of our work is to enhance the quality of life for the service users by supporting them to learn new skills, have new experiences, develop their interests and hobbies and develop new friendships and relationships. We also support the individuals to take control over day to day activities in order to help maximise their independence in a safe and dignified way. We are keen to establish and maintain effective working relationships with each individual, their families and other professional agencies involved to ensure that they have personalised care and support plans. Key Objectives of Our Service

Provide flexible support that is tailored to each individual’s specific needs, wishes, preferences, abilities and aspirations. Empower individuals to lead as independent a life as possible and be actively involved in all decisions which affect their lives and the support they require. Provide individuals with the highest quality of support. These objectives will be achieved by

Working with individuals to develop, implement and review support plans that are relevant to their identified needs. Working with individuals to promote their independence. Treating all individuals with dignity and respect. Encouraging the full participation of individuals in the recruitment of staff and in the development of the service. Ensure that all staff are highly trained and competent in their work. Ensure that individuals are supported to access local community services.

On Easter Monday we made Easter bonnets, enjoyed a buffet, had an Easter quiz then a parade in our bonnets! A lovely day...
