๐ โI think you should roll it out everywhere. Everybody should have access to it because it is amazing; and it does re-educate.โ
This is some special feedback from Bev, a woman who has recently completed the 12-session Eatwise programme with ๐ช๐ฒ๐น๐น๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ถ๐ณ๐ฒ (WBFL). We met with Bev and her Wellbeing Practitioner, Jules, to share her โamazingโ journey.
Before accessing WBFL, Bev was not in a good place mentally. She moved up from Doncaster to look after her parents, and following the passing of her mum in 2019, Bev joined a weight loss organisation; however, this only worked temporarily.
Bev then lost her dad last year. She said following this: โmy emotions were all over the place. The clothes werenโt looking great. I felt frumpy. I was starting to feel as if I looked old.โ
Following a wellness check with her GP, Bev discovered she had high cholesterol. She did not want to go on statins, so she tried to lose weight on her own. After this didnโt work for her, she contacted her GP who then referred her to WBFL.
Due to Bev's previous experience with weight loss programmes, she was sceptical about WBFL. Then arrives Jules, Wellbeing Practitioner and Community Connector. From the start, it was clear this experience would be more positive. This would be personalised and a collaboration to achieve Bev's goals. When speaking with the two, you can tell there is a bond. That this is a journey they are on together.
The programme resulted with the way Bev looks at food being changed. Her eating habits and โeven her tastebuds have changed.โ Through completing small goals and focusing on balance, Bev feels like she has โtaken controlโ.
To those who are in a similar position to Bev before starting Eatwise, Jules says: โDefinitely give this programme a goโฆ because I donโt think people realise how much support you actually get, and the different sessions and how key they are.โ
