RTMinds

RTMinds RTProjects uses art to save lives. is here for people who live with depression, anxiety and those at risk of suicide Art should be part of a healthy lifestyle.

RTProjects is an independent registered charity, set up in 2007 upon the belief that art can save lives. We aim to reduce anxiety and depression by enabling people to use art to strengthn their emotional resilience. We believe that everyone can benefit from participation in creative activities. Modern lifestyles are all too often made up mostly of work and TV, leaving many people disconnected from creative thought and discontented with their lives. We think of it as ‘jogging for the mind’. Discovering art can be life changing. Art can:
Enable people to re-connect with themselves and others;
Reduce Anxiety through engagement in mindful activity;
Improve self esteem by producing something to be proud of;
Stimulate the creative part of the brain. RTProjects is a powerful alternative to clinical and pharmaceutical treatments. We know it works. We see first hand the life-changing impact our projects have upon people’s lives.

It's that time of the week again. It's now just two weeks to Christmas (sorry), and our explorers have toiled their way to 783 miles (32%). Travelling due north that puts us up around the top of Iceland, but taking a more scenic route, we're in Norway.

Now admittedly we need to travel 825 miles per week to hit our target which is unlikely, though Christmas is a time for miracles, and if enough people join us for the final push, who knows where we will end up.

Donations wise we're at 14%, so if anyone can afford to put a few more quid in the kitty, every penny is gratefully received.

Our Polar team have made it to 700 miles now, placing them further north than Reykjavik. It's been almost a week since our last donation though. Can you spare some change?

Dark days, cold weather, and low motivation can take their toll — especially on mental health. At RTProjects, we use creativity, community, and compassion to help people through difficult times.

It's Thursday, and that means it's time to let you know what progress our Polar explorers have made so far. They've made it....drum roll please... 600 miles (well, 599.8). One of our explorers is logging miles around chemotherapy treatment, which makes them our hero!

1,833 arduous miles remains, which is 611 miles per week. So everything they've done so far, they have to do every seven days to reach the North Pole in time. They'll give it everything they've got, but it would be great to get some more of you with us. You can even log miles from the comfort of your own home.

If you're not sure, but you might be persuadable, why not give Adam a shout and he can talk you through it. adam@rtprojects.org is his email.

If you can't add any miles, but you can spare some money, you can donate at localgiving.org/fundraising/North-Pole-Challenge -- every penny counts, and will be used in our life-saving work.

Thank you
