✨✨Say hello to the wonderful Ash! ✨✨

Ash is our newest Reader in Residence at Temperance Tarot Therapy. They've been studying the art of tarot for healing with me for a whole year and are now very much ready to share their skills and insights with the community.

Ash is naturally intuitive, with an ancestral connection to the art of tarot. They read with a traditional Marseille deck that was handed down from their Grandfather.

Expect precise casting of the cards, coupled with an empathic energetic receptivity which allows them to get to the heart of the guidance that's needed. Although readings can touch on deep feelings, Ash approaches their readings with authentic sensitivity and understanding, holding each session safely until you arrive at the realisations that are right for you.

Find them on Thursday afternoons in Durham Indoor Market Hall.

Walk-ins available if you're lucky although we always encourage booking ahead to avoid missing out.

Hello everyone

Just a note to say that, following my Dad's funeral next week, I will begin making a gradual return. This transitional and transformational time is not inherently easy, so I will be taking care of myself by wading back into my therapies slowly, preserving enough of my energies to continue moving through the grieving process.

As a witch, I don't see the grieving process as only coming to terms with the mourning of my Dad in the material form, as it is also a time to help support his safe passage spiritually; to nurture and maintain a strong spiritual-ancestral connection between him and our family.

Since a lot of my spiritual capacity will be engaged with this spiritual transition, I will first be returning to giving lessons with only limited spaces for readings. As the weeks progress, I will be more available for readings again.

However, as well as Astrid continuing to be available for readings on Wednesdays, we will very soon be introducing a brand-new apprentice... And they are excellent 🤩

So here's a "Card of the Day" that almost feels to me like the "Card of much longer than a day..." 😅

The Hanged Man

This is one of the cards I have found most useful in personal readings. It helps us understand when to act, when to wait and how to contemplate our decisions.

The Hanged Man is a particularly layered card. The most typical interpretation is that it indicates a period of waiting, giving us permission to pause at the crossroads before making any big decision.

Sometimes, we are waiting for people or circumstances around us to fall into place before we can make our move. Other times, we are waiting for ourselves to really understand a variety of perspectives - and usually with The Hanged Man, these perspectives are quite different to our normal way of framing things.

He asks us to look at our situation differently and to not be afraid to temporarily step out of our own old shoes in order to feel what it's like in someone else's, or try on a new pair. Just imagine trying to step into a second pair of shoes, whilst already wearing a pair of your own on your feet, that would not be easy 😅 or an effective way to get a feel for those shoes...

So, The Hanged Man says "Leave your old perspective behind, even if just for a moment, so you can truly see another". Just like he had to learn that whilst being held hanging upside down he could see everything differently, in a way that he simply could not see right way up.

This card also encourages you to surrender to inaction and trust that you are held safely at this point for a reason. The less you struggle against it, the safer you will be. Struggling may only make the ropes harder to move later.

There is another layer to The Hanged Man - it is a card that marks a turning point in the majority arcana, from the material journey to the spiritual. For this reason, it is also a card that indicates the possibility for spiritual awakening. For those who are ready, surrendered and patient, it offers them insights during their stasis. Although earthly action is not recommended during Hanged Man phases, spiritual growth is possible. It can lower you down carefully into the depths of your own psyche, safely tucked behind the veil of not needing to interfere, merely observe. Then you can be brought back to the surface of yourself with a deeper understanding.

💸Freelance apprentice opportunity in 2025 for Tarot Therapist! 💸

Temperance Tarot Therapy may soon be looking for a part-time tarot therapist to take on freelance hours at Durham Indoor Market Hall for up to three days per week.

Training in my signature psychospiritual approach will be provided for the right person and expressions of interest from counselling trainees, psychology graduates or other healing modalities are especially encouraged.

Please also reach out if you're just naturally good at reading both cards and people, and willing to learn more 💜

✨🙌 Beginning Friday 22nd August 🙌✨

In a nutshell, Temple of She is a gathering and a collective movement with the purpose of transmuting fear into love, pain into power and persecution into freedom.

Temple of She is a space for people to connect with themselves, each other and the Divine Feminine. It will be made up of groups of intimate numbers to ensure we are safely held through processes of remembrance, release and reclamation. We will use a variety of meditative, somatic and spiritual techniques and be a general hub to discuss psychospirituality, healing and magic.

Temple of She is an inclusive initiative, and whilst some of the groups will be women only, there will also be mixed groups to facilitate the healing and transformative power of the Divine Feminine for anyone who needs, wants and respects it. The Divine Feminine (and Divine Masculine) are unconcerned with material gender identity and both wish to flow through all of us.

Temple of She is not-for-profit, with costs being transparently shared with the group and evenly split where possible. However, if people are struggling to pay they are welcome to just pay what they can and on the other hand, if anyone wishes to contribute more than their basic share that is gratefully received. On average, the cost is currently £12 to £15 per person for 1.5 to 3 hour session. For the time being, the location is Alington House in Durham.

Our first group is fully booked already 🙌 I am now opening up to expressions of interest to add to my waiting list so that group two can roll out in the near future!
