Our first Guest Practitioner will be joining us on the first and third Saturday morning in April!

Delighted to introduce Crystal & Energy Healing with Sara 🙌

Sara has a naturally soothing and grounding energy. She's inclusive, attentive and seriously knows her crystals! I was blown away by the full treatment I had, which she offered at her home. I couldn't believe how much it lightened my PMS (and neither could my family 😅)! Now, she will be offering mini-healing sessions in Temperance inside Durham Markets on 4th and 18th April, and perhaps beyond...

You may already know Madeleine, the founder and 'Head Witch' behind Temperance Tarot Therapy, offering thoughtful tarot readings, lessons, events and therapeutic sessions right here in Durham Market Hall.

Now, Temperance is evolving into something even bigger! 💫

Working alongside Madeleine are Readers in Residence, Ash (centre in pic) and newcomer Becky (who starts this Friday - left in pic!), offering both quick, insightful readings and longer 30-minute sessions. Whether you’re curious, feeling stuck, or just want a little clarity, there’s now more opportunity than ever to pop by.

But that’s not all…

Temperance is opening its doors to Guest Practitioners, inviting a mix of readers, healers and wellbeing specialists to share their work and connect with the community. There’s also a new notice board inside, highlighting local creative, spiritual and wellbeing events.

And for those looking to connect more deeply, the Women’s Spirituality Circle offers a welcoming space to explore, share and grow together. 🤍

We are currently open Thursday to Saturday 12:30pm to 4:30pm as a baseline but booking ahead is recommended as this is variable.

We will be re-opening on Wednesdays as the season picks up and we may be offering extended opening times.

I am very excited to introduce our newest Reader in Residence, Becky!

Becky will be joining myself and Ash to offer face-to-face 30 minute sessions and speedy readings from Temperance Tarot Therapy inside Durham Market Hall ( Durham Markets - In Focus )

Becky is an intuitive reader with exceptional casting skill. She has been trained within Temperance and has a natural aptitude for providing sensitive, artful and eerily precise readings. Here she is introducing herself in her own words:

"Hello! I love using tarot to help those who are feeling stuck and uncertain about where they’re at and where they’re going. My philosophy is that everyone has the answers inside of them, and I use my intuition together with the layered symbology of the tarot to reveal the blocks and patterns working against you, and also what is working for you.

I love the power that the imagery and art of the cards have to bypass the overthinking mind and external noise straight into your subconscious which can often be running the show.

I use the ‘Tarot of the Enchanted Garden’ deck by Lo Scarabeo, illustrated by Rosanna Pala, based on the Rider Waite-Smith system. I love the fairytale-whimsy art of this deck which brings more beauty and magic into the everyday mundane and the existential-ness of being a human."

Card of the Day

ART
also known as...
Temperance!

This is from The Cosmic Tribe deck which follows the pattern of the Thoth system of tarot, which saw Temperance renamed as Art.

This is a card that benevolently commands patience, attention to detail and fine tuning. It is the angelic essence that follows the Death card and makes us feel safe again as we rebuild a transformed version of ourselves. It is an archetype which holds reliable powers of transmutation and alchemy. A healer who also delivers divine inspiration and encompasses the energy of the muse - the nurture we need to express ourselves artfully.

Engage with life gently. Pay attention to benevolent signs, symbols and synchronicity when the Art card presents itself. This is often a window that remains open for some time - we must allow the meaning to come to us softly and in measured pace. The Art/Temperance archetype won't loudly announce it's arrival, but will patiently wait for you to notice. We must find an inner calm and trust our intuition at these times - no hasty moves, a gradual merging of available resources from the material to the divine which gently places you back onto the correct path for your soul purpose.

I could say so much more about this card... For now, I'll leave you with that 🙏
