We did say yesterday we were celebrating our TENTH year, and whilst that's true for our training provision, we are actually celebrating our FIFTEENTH year in foot care π£
We had always dreamed of having our own business. We tried window cleaning and waterless car valets initially...and we were actually building up a good client base. However, we didn't want to lose working in healthcare, and so looked at other options.
We get asked so much, "Why feet" and "I couldn't do your job"
We don't see it as a job as such, we are making a small difference to someone's quality of life. It might not seem much, having ingrown toenails, corns, significant Callus, or even just long nails...but until you experience the pain that is often associated with these conditions, then you don't often appreciate how important your feet are.
This is the satisfaction we get from this role. In as little as 30 minutes, we can often take away someone's pain, which is simply amazing.
Again, starting with one patient, visiting them in their own home, didn't even want to ask for the modest fee, and almost left without payment. Now, we are so fortunate to have a good size home visiting practice. We visit many care homes, from Ashington to Durham, and also visit people in their own homes.
Once again, a lot of hard work has and does go into everything that we do. Running your own business certainly brings so many challenges, but we couldn't imagine doing anything else now.
Thank you so much to everyone who has used and uses our footcare service. Thank you to everyone who mentions our name. We are so fortunate that we don't actively advertise this service now, as all of our referrals come through word of mouth and reputation...thank you π
Just preparing to see our first patients of 2026 across various locations in a snowy Northumberland.
