✨ 10 THINGS TO DO EVERY MONTH TO BE SUPER ORGANISED ✨

The beginning of the month is the perfect time to reset, refresh and stay organised. There are so many simple yet powerful things you can do for yourself to prevent unnecessary stress. Even if you think you’re a disorganised person, you can learn new habits which will help you stay super organised!

In this post I’m sharing 10 things at the beginning of every month to ditch the unnecessary stress and organise the things that matter most to you.

1. SET YOURSELF GOALS
At the start of the month I will open up my Planner and write down my goals, habits and bucket list for the month ahead. Then at the end of each month, I’ll go back to my planner and reflect on what went well and what I want to change. I’ve found that by having monthly goals I’m more likely to achieve everything on my list. In the past when I’ve set myself a New Year Resolution, my motivation tends to wear thin and I usefully forget about my goal by the end of the year. Another reason why I prefer monthly goals is because it allows smaller goals to be added to your list.

2. ORGANISE YOUR PHONE PHOTOS
Firstly I’ll admit that I have over 1000 photos on my phone! So as I write this I’m also reminding myself to go through all of my photos, delete the ones which I don’t want and upload the others to my Google Drive. You can also upload to them places such as iCloud, Amazon Cloud and Drop Box. You can then delete those photos from your phone to save space and have peace of mind knowing that your memories are in a safe place. Doing this will help you stay super organised every month!

3. CLEAR OUT YOUR PURSE
I’m not sure about you, but my purse seems to become full very quickly! By the end of the month it’s loaded with loose change and old receipts which I’ve kept just in case. Clearing out your purse at the beginning of the month is a great habit to start doing to get rid of the clutter which you no longer need. Not only will your purse feel lighter but your life will feel just that little bit lighter too.

4. MAKE PLANS WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY
Most of us are usually very busy therefore finding the time to see friends and family, needs to be planned in advance. Use the beginning of the month to reach out to your loved ones and schedule in dates, nights out and days out when lockdown ends... Also, don’t forget about the family you live with. Even though you see them every day, plan activities and fun things to do together.

5. SCHEDULE APPOINTMENTS
Review your calendar at the beginning of the month and schedule appointments to make sure you get the time and date which works best for you. Do you want to get your hair done ready for a date or night out? Are you due a check up at the dentist? Have you been meaning to treat yourself to a massage? Get your appointments booked in and you will feel super organised and productive!

6. BUY BIRTHDAY CARDS
At the beginning of the month make a list of all the birthday cards you need to buy for the month ahead. It’s best to include the first week of the following month too, just in case someone’s birthday is on the first! You can also do this if you plan on buying birthday gifts too. Next time you’re out shopping you can pick up everything you need and avoid those embarrassing belated birthday wishes.

7. DEEP CLEAN YOUR HOME
Stay super organised by giving your home the deep clean at the start of every month!

8. BUDGET FOR THE MONTH
The start of the month is a great time to budget for the month ahead. You can figure out how much you need to spend on bills and grocery’s etc. With your remaining money you can work out how much you want to save and how much you want to spend.

9. CHOOSE A BOOK TO READ
I love a good book and I always give myself one or two books to read every month. I like to mix it up with a self-development book and a fiction book. Try to pick out at least one book at the beginning of the month.

10. CLEAN OUT YOUR REFRIGERATOR
Stay super organised at the beginning of each month by cleaning out your refrigerator. Spend just 15 minutes clearing out those items that are expired. From this exercise you will get a good idea of what items you need and you will be able to plan your step 2 and 3 meals more effectively using what you already have.

And finally, a New Month is the perfect time to start the New You. Want to lose a few lbs for Easter, or a couple of stone for your Summer Holiday... now is the time to start. Book in for a personalised consultation and I will go through the steps of The 1:1 Diet and together we’ll find a plan that works with you, and get you to your goal!

Ahead of Halloween did you know that pumpkin is a great source of potassium and beta-carotene, which is a carotenoid that converts to vitamin A.

It also contains some minerals including calcium and magnesium, as well as vitamins E, C and some B vitamins.

How do you like to cook yours?

I love roasted chunks of pumpkin cooked in the oven sprinkled with 1:1 Diet Golden Vegetable flavouring along with fresh herbs.

Suitable from Step 3 upwards.

Or pop it out in the garden for the animal critters to nibble 🐿

ENJOY A BBQ AND STICK TO YOUR DIET!

🥗🍗🥒🌶🍽🥗🍗🥒🌶🍽🥗🍗🥒🌶🍽

So how can you still enjoy a BBQ without straying from Plan?

Staying on track with your diet while all of your family and friends are tucking into burgers, hot dogs and your auntie’s potato salad might not be easy, but it’ll definitely be worth it when you can still zip up your shorts tomorrow.

Firstly, try spicing up your daily protein allowance. There are so many herbs and spices to choose from the possibilities are endless. Never again will you have to look sadly down at a bare chicken breast, instead let your plate come alive with epic flavours. Why not try smoked paprika for Mexican vibes? A bit of five spice and ground ginger will take your taste buds to Asia and back. Indian curry spices taste awesome on barbecues (and with so many different varieties you’ll be spoilt for choice!).

For the more traditional among you, classic herbs like coriander, thyme and rosemary are incredible for bringing out the flavours in meat and work so well on barbeques. Why not try a little squeeze of lemon or lime too (lime tastes amazing with chilli flakes – lemon totally zings with ginger too!).

Don’t just stick to chicken either, your protein allowance could come from turkey, Quorn, white fish or prawns – so many exciting options you should never feel like you’re missing out!

You could also mix up rainbow coloured kebab skewers with your vegetable allowance alongside your protein or make yourself a lovely fresh side salad to accompany your barbecued delights.

For those with a milk allowance you could whip yourself up a lovely dip to top your BBQ feast, simply add some chopped chives or mint to plain low fat (1%) yoghurt (amount according to your Step, check with your Consultant), yum!

Lastly… steer clear of that dodgy looking trifle or the calorie-laden ice creams being handed around, and mix yourself up a 1:1 Diet friendly dessert – choose from Strawberry Cheesecake, Lemon and Lime Cheesecake, Trifle, Ice Lollies or Jelly! They’re all so tasty that everyone will be begging you for a bite!

Let us know your favourite herb and spice combos for spicing up your meals below…

This is what maintenance looks like!

I’m away on holiday still trying to be “good” food wise where I can.

Just made egg muffins into a tray bake so I can cut it into portions and take with me to the beach for lunch 🤩

This is also a great Step2 and up recipe.
