⚠️ This post talks about addiction and recovery, shared to raise awareness and support others in finding hope and change 💙

🔍 Finding Solutions, Not Problems

In recovery and in life it’s easy to focus on what’s wrong.
But change begins when you start asking, “What can I do about it?” instead of “Why me?”

Here’s what that shift looks like 👇

💡 Mindset Over Mess
Problems shout. Solutions whisper. You quiet the noise, take a breath, and look for the next right step, not the whole staircase.

🧭 From Blame to Action
You stop pointing fingers and start taking ownership. Not because it’s your fault, but because it’s your freedom.

🤝 Ask for Help
Sometimes the best solution is saying, “I don’t know what to do, can you help me think it through?” recovery is a team effort. Reach out!

🌱 Grow Through It
Every challenge holds a lesson if you stay open to learning. You don’t just survive setbacks you use them to level up. Let’s get it!

🔥 Energy Follows Focus
When you focus on problems, they grow. When you focus on solutions, you grow. Operation rebuild!

✨ In recovery we stop waiting for things to change, we become the change. Boshhhhhhh!

We’ll be diving into this mindset in upcoming lives and group sessions, practical tools, real talk, and ways to build forward momentum 💙

Today's going to be a bit of everything - healthy exercise with Leisa, boring admin, lovely clients - both new and established - and ending on a bit of fun with the lovely Lindsey and Sharon at another Maude and Stanley workshop.

What does your day ahead hold in store?

🌟 Continuing to Celebrate Volunteer Week: Meet Julia!🌟

“Joining CGL Wellingborough as a Recovery Support Volunteer has been one of the best decisions I've made in my life so far, both personally and professionally. ❤️

When I'm not volunteering, I run a private practice in Earls Barton as a Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Hypnosis, and TimeLine Therapy. I’ve had the privilege of supporting many CGL service users on their recovery journeys, helping them process trauma, build confidence, and improve their relationships.

Initially, I joined to learn more about the CGL approach to recovery, expecting to help with simple tasks. How wrong was I! I started off with just one day a week, but soon found myself co-facilitating the Smart Recovery programme and building my own small caseload of clients. Now, I dedicate as much time as I can to making a difference alongside the amazing CGL team.

Volunteering has not only allowed me to support others but has also brought me closer to a community of dedicated Recovery Workers, whose empathy and understanding truly inspire me every day.

Thank you, CGL, for the opportunity to make a meaningful impact!”

Once again, another powerful testimony! Julia you have had a massive impact on the lives of those accessing the service. Thank you 💚
