At Brendoncare Stildon in East Grinstead, our residents love meeting new people and hearing about interesting jobs, hobbies, and life experiences. 💜

We’re looking for anyone who’d like to come in and share their skills, stories, or passions — whether you’re a musician, artist, gardener, police officer, council worker, firefighter, teacher, crafter, or simply someone with a fascinating life journey to tell! 🧑‍🌾👩‍⚖️👨‍🏫

It’s a wonderful opportunity to brighten someone’s day, spark conversations, and make a real difference in our community 💬💖

Gunpowder, treason and plot!
We see no reason why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!” 💥

Our residents had a sparkling afternoon celebrating Bonfire Night here at Brendoncare Stildon! 🎇
We kicked things off with a Bonfire Night & Fireworks Quiz, watched a short documentary about the Gunpowder Plot, and then gathered together with hot chocolates piled high with marshmallows (yum! 😋☕🔥) to enjoy the East Grinstead Community Bonfire Fireworks Display from October 18th.

There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and “oohs” and “aahs” as the fireworks lit up the screen! ✨
A warm and wonderful afternoon full of good company, sweet treats, and community spirit. ❤️

This morning we enjoyed watching a fascinating David Attenborough documentary 🦦📺 — Parenthood, all about animals living in fresh water. Our residents were absolutely transfixed, amazed by the beautiful wildlife and stunning footage! 🌿🐠

🥋 Later in the day, we kept the energy flowing with seated karate, practicing our blocks and punches 💪✨ There were some brilliant moves — we might have a few future black belts in the making! 🖤👊

🍞 After all that action, we relaxed with homemade bread pudding and a lovely cup of tea or coffee ☕️🫖 while enjoying a great music mash-up of The Carpenters and The Beatles 🎶💛

A perfect Saturday full of interest, movement, and good company here at Brendoncare Stildon!

🌸 Orchid Demonstration at Stildon 🌸

We had a wonderful and educational afternoon with Trevor from Mustard Roots, who gave an incredibly informative orchid demonstration for our residents and team! 🌿

Everyone really enjoyed learning about how to care for these beautiful plants — and we’re now looking forward to potting the orchids around the home to add even more colour and life to our environment. 🌺

A big thank you to Trevor for sharing his knowledge and passion with us. We’re already excited for his next visit on 20th November! 🌼✨

🌼 What a wonderful few days at Brendoncare Stildon! 🌼

🎲 Saturday – We had great fun playing a lively game of giant dominoes! Lots of laughter all around, followed by slices of the pineapple upside-down cake our residents made the day before 🍍🍰 – it was absolutely delicious, and everyone was asking for seconds! 😋

🎈 Monday – Things got competitive with an exciting game of balloon tennis! 🏸 Jasmine and Sharon were really put to the test – amazing skills from our residents! Who knows, maybe you’ll see them at Wimbledon next year! 😉🎾

🧁We were also treated to a beautiful hamper of goodies from Ballard and Shorthall 💝 – such a lovely gesture in celebration of Grandparents’ Day earlier this month. Thank you so much! 🙏

🧡 Tuesday – Pauline and Jasmine, along with Tony, attended the Looking After You event at Chequer Mead to share all about Brendoncare Stildon and the wonderful services we provide. Later, we enjoyed a thoughtful game of Lifestories, sparking some fascinating conversations – including discovering that one of our residents used to sell fish! 🐟💬

It’s been a week full of fun, laughter, and great company – and the week has only just begun! 💕

Once again we are hosting the Looking After You! event at Chequer Mead on Tuesday 21st October from 10am-12pm. Free to attend.

We have lots of health and wellbeing exhibitors attending and this is a great opportunity for all residents of East Grinstead to find out what support is available to manage your own health and wellbeing locally. We look forward to seeing you there.

What a fantastic afternoon we had last Friday at Brendoncare Stildon! 💛
Our residents enjoyed a fabulous bottomless brunch, filled with laughter, music, and a wonderful community spirit.

On the drinks menu were everyone’s favourites — Mimosas and Cosmopolitans, both in alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions, plus a lovely selection of wine and mocktails to suit all tastes. 🍹✨

A huge thank you to Jasmine and Sharon, who joined our residents in preparing some delicious brunch bites — cheese and pineapple sticks, olives, sausage rolls, gherkins, and crisps. Everything looked (and tasted!) amazing! 🧀💛

With great music in the background and plenty of smiles all around, it was an afternoon to remember. 💃🎶

What a wonderful day we had yesterday at Brendoncare Stildon! 💛
We were delighted to welcome the incredible Song Sisters, a talented female choir who filled our home with music, laughter, and emotion. Their heartfelt performance of “My Heart Will Go On” truly touched everyone — residents, staff, and visitors alike! 💕

Moments like these remind us how special it is to come together through music and community. A huge thank you to the Song Sisters for sharing their beautiful voices, and to everyone who joined us for such a joyful afternoon!

It was on Monday, so we took the opportunity to write a letter from Brendoncare Stildon to our new pen friends at Beccles Care Home in Suffolk.

We are really excited to be making contact with another care home. We started by telling them all about who we are, the history of the lovely town in which we live and to introduce them to some of the residents here, and their personal likes.

We are looking forward to receiving a reply and we will keep you posted when we do!

Today we were delighted to welcome Linley from Kiddley Divey for a fun-filled music and movement session! 🎤💃

The theme was oldies songs, and we had a blast singing along to classics – including the catchy and playful “Kiddley Divey Do, Doses and Dotes!” 🎵😄

With pom poms, drums, balls, and tambourines in hand, our residents got moving, grooving, and smiling from start to finish! 🥁🪇🎾✨

A huge thank you to Linley for another brilliant session – it’s always a joy to see our residents so engaged and energised 💛🎶
