Last week we said goodbye to our Home Manger, Julie and to mark the occasion had two fabulous events on the same day! 🧡

In the morning Charters Court welcomed students and staff from St Piers School and College in Lingfield, for a coffee morning and fundraising raffle. Everyone came together and donned a purple hat, the students from St Piers sang for the residents and the lucky raffle winners enjoyed choosing from the wide selection of prizes.

In the afternoon, a party was held to say farewell to Julie. There were speeches from both members of staff and residents Ann and Wendy, together with a fun video presentation. The Wellbeing team had organised a display board showing photos of Julie’s time in the home which included lots of happy memories. Staff had brought in traditional food dishes from their homelands for everyone to share and Julie was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a bottle of fizz plus there was music and dancing…….. phew, what a busy day we had!!

Once again, our residents enjoyed a lovely morning arranging some beautiful flowers, which are now on display for everyone to enjoy around the home 💐

What a fun morning we had making Easter Chick Pom Poms! 🐣

Everyone enjoyed painting the bodies of the chicks and then choosing from the wide selection of craft material to decorate their chicks, including colourful feathers, pipe cleaners, balls and googly eyes!

Our residents have been enjoying the fresh air and soaking up the recent glorious sunshine ☀️

We have been making the most of the warmth of spring, by spending time outside whenever we can!

The mobile shop here at Charters Court offers residents and their families the opportunity to purchase day to day items from anywhere in the home 🛒🛍️

The shop has a choice of everyday toiletries, sweets, chocolates, crisps, gift bags, slippers, eye masks, batteries, greetings cards, stamps, tissues, socks, notebooks, pens, pencils, denture cleaner and glasses cleaner plus lots more.

After restocking any profit made from the shop will be donated to the residents' fund and used for special treats.

Please ask at reception for details if you do not have an account set up.

Each week, our wellbeing team organise lots of activities which offer something for everyone here at Charters Court.

Last week our residents enjoyed a coffee morning, jigsaws, a church service, family and friends’ visits, quizzes, making flapjacks, board games, a magician, Zumba, a visit from Tracey the Hairdresser, a guitar player plus walks outside on the sunny days!

Residents at East Grinstead care home enjoy musical afternoon with popular performer 🎵

Residents at Charters Court Care Home in East Grinstead were treated to a lively afternoon of music and entertainment when singer and saxophone player Micheal Lack returned for another popular performance.

Micheal's amazing voice never fails to brighten the day and bring smiles to everyone’s face.
