As much a reminder for me as for you….

Recovery time is just as important as the time we spend working out, moving, training, & being active.

But Recovery time is not about vegetating on the sofa (that might have its place sometimes). Instead it’s about finding what enables your body to actually recover. To assimilate all that it’s done, and to take the time to heal.

For me Recovery time might involve a slower, not too hilly, walk. Or a gentle Nurturing Flow or Restorative Hatha practice. Or a good hour on my fascial release balls. Maybe a hot bath, or a lay down on my Shakti Mat.

And as Recovery is just as important for our minds; I might take time to journal, or read a fiction book (one which isn’t too emotional or spikes my cortisol), or even pulling out the jigsaw from under the sofa.

On this long Easter Weekend, I hope you can find space for some Recovery time too.

After hearing a few of you wanted to come to my previous Find Your Alignment - Level 2 Workshop, but couldn’t make the date, I’ve added in an additional date for the workshop; Saturday 18th April. And there is now one spot left.

This workshop is for those who want to deepen their Yoga asana practice. Whether you’re newer to Yoga or have been practicing for years, this will give you the time to dive deeper into some of the more complex but common Yoga poses and either start to get to grips with them, or explore them in new ways. We’ll also explore our traditional Vinyasa, including variations, so you can find the version that will enable you to progress in your practice.

During this workshop you’ll:

🌟Discover my approach to alignment and guiding principles to apply to any pose
🌟Review different variations of each pose with live demos
🌟Experiment with using props to get more out of the pose
🌟Explore each pose in your body, finding the variation that works best for you
🌟Get hands on adjustments and cues to discover your pose blind spots
🌟Get a chance to ask questions in this interactive workshop
🌟Walk away with your handouts complete with pose images and your own notes of what you want to work on, so you can practice what you’ve learned.

Running on Saturday 18th April 2:30 to 4:45pm and hosted at a lovely studio space in Dormansland, East Grinstead, Sussex.

Finding a moment of silence amongst all the constant noise.

This week at the end of a couple of classes, I turned the lights out, the heaters off, & the music off. And as everyone lay in Savasana, the room was silent. We could barely hear the ticking clock.

It wasn’t just silent, it was peaceful.

From the juxtaposition of the class with movement, breath, my voice, and the music, to the stillness of Savasana & silence. We all felt that peace.

So if you get a chance see if you can find just 3 minutes of silence in your day, take a few deep breaths and just be in that silence. Notice the absence of noise.

If you need another reason to drink more water, then what I’ve learned about Fascia is another reason to pick up that herbal tea & bottle of water.

When our Fascia gets dehydrated it gets sticky, rigid & immobile. To get it our Fascia hydrated, we need water, nutrition, & movement.

And when our Fascia is hydrated, it slides & glides, and we find ease in our movement.

A reminder for myself, as much as for you, to keep sipping your favourite herbal teas!
