It’s Back Care Awareness Week! 💙
Fact 4
Your spine is seriously impressive! 🦴
Your spine is made up of 33 bones (vertebrae), it protects your spinal cord and supports almost every move you make.
With the right care - good posture, strong muscles, and smart lifting - it’ll keep you upright and moving for life!
More facts about the spine: The human spine consists of 33 bones called vertebrae, divided into five regions: 7 cervical (neck), 12 thoracic (upper back), 5 lumbar (lower back), 5 sacral (fused into one bone), and 4-5 coccygeal (fused to form the tailbone).
These vertebrae protect the spinal cord, support the body, and allow for movement and flexibility, with the 7 cervical, 12 thoracic, and 5 lumbar vertebrae allowing for independent movement while the sacral and coccygeal vertebrae are fused in adulthood.
