Sometimes the body behaves in ways that feel unpredictable. Hearts may race, dizziness can appear, fatigue may set in, or unexpected allergic reactions might arise. These experiences can be connected to three systems that often overlap:
- Dysautonomia
- POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome)
- Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS)
These patterns are often linked to hypermobility and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), but many other people may notice similar fluctuations. Not everyone will experience all three, and symptoms can vary day to day.
I personally live with all three — primarily dysautonomia and POTS, rarely MCAS.
