Meet Jamie: Jamie’s life changed forever when a motorbike explosion left him with burn injuries. Decades later, he reached out to us seeking help, unaware of the comprehensive support we could provide. Through his first conversation, Jamie began to realise that the emotional scars he carried were just as impactful as the physical ones.
Initially, Jamie intended to stay only a day at our rehabilitation centre, but he was so encouraged that he decided to stay for the full five days. Meeting other survivors gave him the courage to embrace peer support, and sessions with our physiotherapist helped him gain significant physical improvement. One of Jamie’s most profound steps was revealing his scars to his partner for the first time after years of hiding them.
