Thank you so much to everyone who came along to our Christmas party and helped make it such a lovely wee night together.
It was really special to see families spending time together, children laughing and enjoying themselves, and everyone just being able to relax and enjoy the moment. The room was full of smiles, dancing, warmth and a real sense of togetherness.

We are so grateful to our wonderful volunteers and parent helpers for all the time, care and kindness you give, and to the families who brought food along for the buffet. It truly felt like something we all created together.

A big thank you to our DJ, to The Kraken Chippy for their generous food donation, and to Technotots Nursery for fundraising for our organisation and coming along to celebrate with us.

We had such a lovely time with you all, Wishing every one of you a very merry Christmas when it comes and we cannot wait to see you all in the New Year ❤️

If you have any pics we would love to see them

A HUGE thank you to the Kraken Chippy - East Kilbride for their very generous donation of food towards our Christmas dinner party tomorrow night, we are incredibly grateful for their kindness and community spirit. Looking forward to it , not only does this cut down our costs, but our food preparation time - meaning we can focus on making the evening fun for our little brains families 🐙

🎉 Competition Time 🎉

Be in with a chance of winning a brand new spinning chair for your child (also suitable for young adults - confirmed by our volunteers 😂)

Sensory spinning chairs help with regulation because they give the body the kind of movement it needs to feel settled and organised. For many children, especially those who are autistic, have ADHD, or seek lots of movement, spinning meets a strong sensory need in a safe and predictable way. When the body gets this input, it can ease feelings of restlessness or overload and reduce the urge to move in unsafe or disruptive ways. Spinning also helps children feel more aware of their bodies and where they are in space, which can be very grounding. As the body begins to calm, emotions often become easier to manage too, making it easier to focus, cope with transitions, and engage with others. Having control over how fast or how long they spin supports a sense of safety and choice, helping children learn what their bodies need to stay regulated.

Thankyou for everything Jan. From the bottom of our hearts. Little Brains wouldn't have succeeded the way it has if it wasn't for the support you and Waist Not Want Not Sco50053 have given us.

We Need You Monday Nights, 6–8pm at Little Brains Waist Not Want Not Sco50053 community wellbeing hub in Greenhills

This is us being honest.
We really need volunteers for our Monday night boys group. We’re not trying to be dramatic; we’re genuinely struggling for numbers, and it’s getting harder to keep the group running the way these boys deserve.

Our girls group is bursting with wonderful female volunteers. But for the boys? We scrape by with our amazing lads. But every week it breaks our hearts a little bit, because what does it say about men’s mental health, male role models, and the way boys are supported in our community?

These boys need people who show up. People who care. People who can be patient with big energy, loud laughs, and the occasional wobble.

And if you’re a parent reading this, please have a chat with your teens or young adults. Some of the very best volunteers were originally reluctant kids who thought they “weren’t the volunteering type”… and now they’re the ones who light up the room.

The truth is that our kids do have Additional Support Needs, but please don’t let that put you off. They are amazing kids with a bit more spark. More energy. More honesty. More emotion. And they are genuinely some of the most rewarding young people you’ll ever meet.

*Disclaimer - nerf night is mental and you will need paracetamol*

Here’s what we can promise you or your teenager:

We will build you up as a person.
You’ll grow in confidence, patience, communication, leadership and all the qualities that make someone strong and capable.

We will build you up professionally.
We will train you, support you, give you responsibilities at your pace and help you gain experience that looks brilliant on any CV.

You’ll receive a Little Brains hoodie so you feel part of the team.

There are occasional pizza nights because we appreciate you.

You’ll join a genuinely supportive team who look out for each other.

And you’ll get the deep sense of knowing that you matter to someone.

Maybe you’re looking for a New Year’s resolution that actually means something.
Maybe your teenager needs confidence, purpose or a place to belong.
Maybe you want to do something real and practical for your community.

Two hours. One night a week.
You could change a child’s life just by showing up, and we will support you every step of the way.

Please message us if you can help. We really need you.

I just want to take a moment to say how grateful and in awe I am of everyone at Little Brains. Because I haven’t been well recently, there have been moments where I doubted how to keep things going. But this team stepped up, reminded me why we do this work, and some gave me the pep talk I needed to keep going, these are all girls that are younger than me- holding me together. (The boys are great too)

Our volunteers and team members lift each other up, keep the place running, and bring our mission to life every single day. Your dedication, heart, and positivity inspire me constantly. I am so proud to work alongside people who care this deeply and make all of this possible.

We don't let the hard days win 💛

Happy Birthday to our Megan, we appreciate everything you do for LittleBrains. Hope you are spoiled today.

Massive thank you to our volunteer Mmegan Crombie for stepping out of her comfort zone and taking charge of tonight's activities, looks like the kids had a great time and she's done an amazing job. Lovely to be sent pictures of these beautiful creations made by the girls group tonight.

Hugely grateful that in my absence our amazing team pulls together and makes sure everything still runs smoothly. It definitely makes resting a bit easier.

Looks like we're "stepping into Christmas" 🎶🎵🎶🎵🌲❄️⛄🎁
