Our team at Payne & sons invite you to join us in our wonderful Service Chapel at 143 Seaside, Eastbourne for our Christmas memorial service on Tuesday 9th December 2025, beginning at 6.30 pm. Come and share with us a traditional Christmas celebration, along with an opportunity to remember and give thanks for those to whom we have said “Goodbye”.

At the end of the service light refreshments will be offered.

Karen West
Funeral Service Operative

Karen previously worked in the mobility trade before joining Payne & Sons Funeral Directors. She enjoys meeting and helping different people, and supporting them during this difficult time.

In her spare time, Karen enjoys walking her dog and socialising with friends and family.

Lee Howard
Operational Support Manager

Lee Howard has been a dedicated member of Payne & Sons Funeral Directors since 2010. He is the younger brother of Christopher Howard, who co-founded the business with their parents, Donna and Rod Payne. Prior to joining the family firm, Lee worked at a local leisure centre and also received training in the military.

Over the past decade, Lee has played a key role in ensuring that every funeral is tailored to meet the unique needs of each family. He became a Funeral Director in 2015, was promoted to Area Development Manager in 2018, and took on his current role as Operational Support Manager in 2024. Lee finds great meaning in his work, saying, “Helping families through one of the hardest times in their lives is incredibly rewarding.”
