As I finished a meeting this morning, a parcel arrived. I cannot tell you how much this meant to me and how much brighter my day looks as a result. So, in return I will set about making sure I offer a random act of kindness today to share the joy that is friendship

On my walk today I stopped to look at this awesome winter rose and to take in it’s beautiful scent.

It made me think of the old saying about stopping to ‘smell the roses’.

Sometimes we all need a reminder to be more mindful, to ‘stand and stare’, take time and prioritise our own well-being in the day-to-day challenges of life.

So…that’s exactly what I am going to do! From today I will take a few delayed days off, to rest, recoup and embrace some ‘me’ time.

As my clinical supervisor reminded me, to help others we must first help ourselves.
