I also offer one off or termly kids yoga sessions and exercise to music/yoga for anyone with a disability or restricted movement
About Yoga:
Yoga is an ancient approach to wellbeing that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. The main components of yoga are postures (a series of movements designed to increase strength and flexibility) and breathing, in order to prepare the body & mind for meditation. The practice originated in India and has been adapted in other countries in a variety of ways. Yoga has been proven to improve health and fitness as well as reducing stress by calming the nervous system. Although most modern postural Yoga concentrates on asana (postures) the incorporation of pranayama or breath work and eventually the other 6 limbs of yoga can completely change your appproach to and experience of life, helping you to live fully, in order to benefit yourself and others. I have a modern approach to traditional Yoga practice teaching in a dogma free student centred way whilst honouring the knowledge that my teachers have passed on to me. About Suzie:
I trained in specialist Movement to Music in 2009 and have been teaching in the community for Age UK ever since. My classes are fun & friendly with upbeat music and a strong emphasis on going at your own pace, seated and standing options are available. I have been practicing Yoga since 2007 and explored many different styles including traditional/classical Hatha, sivananda, iyengar, vinyasa flow and prana flow. I love to bring this eclectic mix to my classes and to my own practice. What I love about Yoga is its ability to strengthen and balance both body and mind. I have 4 school age children so know first hand how hard it is to commit to a long term practice when you are short on time! I hope to offer my students the tools to fit Yoga practice into their often busy lives. I completed my Hatha Yoga teacher training in 2013 and like to remain first and foremost a student, I keep things fresh through my own learning. In 2015 I completed my Vinyasa Teaching qualification with Yoga Professionals in London, in 2019 I got my chair yoga certification from Yoga Vista Academy and my Shibashi 1 through Tai Chi for Better Health. I’m currently in my 2nd year of Psychotherapy training & believe that mind and body are intrinsically linked. Classes
