Our residents enjoy getting out and about, and one of our favourites was attending the Poppy Dance. They had the chance to mingle with the local community and sing and dance, forming friendships and smiling as they spent time together.

We held a Halloween Spooktacular to bring the community together, celebrate a beloved tradition, and create joyful memories for both residents and guests. The festivities began with residents making Halloween crafts and decorations, creating a wonderfully spooky atmosphere around the home. We also enjoyed a fun pumpkin-carving session that filled the room with nostalgia and creativity.

The Macmillan Coffee Morning is one of the biggest fundraising events to support people living with cancer. We are proud to announce that our Alice in Wonderland Theme Day for the Macmillan Coffee Morning raised funds for this very worthy cause. We would like to thank residents, staff, and families for supporting this event with donations and cakes.

Our residents always enjoy good musical entertainment, as it brings such joy. The concert by Robbie Lee was a wonderful experience, with some residents participating in singing and dancing, making it a memorable event.

Residents continue to enjoy having their hair cut and styled regularly at our in-house hair salon. Self-care is so important, and our residents know this better than anyone! When you look good, you feel good.

We have a fun fitness programme featuring armchair aerobics, which teaches and encourages everyone to participate in exercises tailored to their individual capabilities. It's a great way to stay active and get fit.

Here at The Rookery, we are still having our regular animal visits as requested by our residents. We have had so many different animals visit us already this year, but we were surprised by our latest visitors. We got involved in looking at and touching the reptiles, with some of us more keen than others, especially when the snake and armadillo came out! These visits bring joy and wonder, while also providing therapeutic benefits to our residents.

We recently had a wonderful outing to the Ebbw Vale Institute. Residents enjoyed a coffee morning alongside games and craft sessions; there is no better way to meet people in our local community and have some fun.

Our gardens are flourishing at the moment and are filled with pots and baskets of colourful blooms, making the sunny outdoor days even more pleasurable. We are so fortunate to have seating areas in the garden that allow us to take full advantage of the lovely weather outside.

We had fun with the local nursery children, playing in the garden and helping to water the plants. It is always a highlight for our residents to spend time with the children and engage in meaningful conversations while getting to know each other better.
