By ordering and collecting your prescriptions before the festive Bank Holiday, you are helping relieve the strain on NHS services across Wales.

Please note that Glan Rhyd Surgery will be closed on the following dates over the festive period:

✅ Closed: Thursday 25th December 2025 , Friday 26th December 2025 and Thursday 1st January 2026

Over the festive period, we will have fewer pre-bookable appointments available but will continue to provide care for urgent medical needs.

When we are closed please use NHS Wales 111 service for urgent medical needs that cannot wait until we reopen.

The Glan Rhyd Surgery team are pleased to take part in the Blaenau Gwent Christmas Gift Giving 2025.
The Cost of Living crisis in the UK has had a profound effect on our locality with families struggling to meet the escalating food and fuel costs and around 27.4% children living in relative poverty. Blaenau Gwent has various family support programmes assisting these vulnerable families and trying to help them navigate their way out of poverty but it can be a long process and Christmas time is often a real worry for them and many children go without.
Special thanks to our staff in practice for their generous contributions and one of our administrators who pulls this together and delivers the presents to the local authority. We really do have a wonderful team.
